Jed
still.. unsure about the mcs but i am sure it was alright. hats are most important anyway, plus bass and snare...Got my snare proper dnb/ ska tight so sounds a beast! Also mic'd front and back of bass and was sounding tasty... will put a link to the myspace when full recordings are up.
Janson
sweet. tight snare ***.always been interested in 13" instead of 14" snare.. looking forward to recording!
Jed
I really do prefer 13" snares as you dont get all the gay overtones as much as the 14" snares. I am also interested in getting a deep as f**k 13" snare like 13" by 7/8" would be a beast!
Janson
get a rack tom and get a new bottom rim and some kind of snare mechanism? you could go crazy with something like an 80's sonor phonic 13x13" or something silly.

Alan
Right, I'm really considering learning to play the keyboard from listening to bands like Hadouken and Enter Shikari, butttt, where would i be able to get the "notes?" for these sorts of songs, websites? or would i have to go to a shop? And what would a sheet of music be called for a keyboard? Would i like have to google "Haduken - Liquid lives keyboard notes" all confusing me really!Any help appreciated, Cheers!
Dan Clark
Enter Shikari don't use keyboards, he uses a sampler.I reckon your best bet is to get the guitar pro files for the Haudoken etc songs and download guitar pro off the internet, that displays everything in standard music notature as well as guitar tab and usually has every instrument of the song.I don't think you'll be too successful looking for sheet music.Or you could always try and tranpose tab to sheet music yourself. Tommy d
Enter Shikari don't use keyboards, he uses a sampler.Boooooo! And there was me thinking I might quite like them. It always annoys me when you see someome play live and you hear stuff that nobody is actually playing. Same goes for drum machines.I reckon your best bet is to get the guitar pro files for the Haudoken etc songs and download guitar pro off the internet, that displays everything in standard music notature as well as guitar tab and usually has every instrument of the song.Yeah good plan, I use Powertab but it sounds like pretty much the same thing.Or you could always try and tranpose tab to sheet music yourself.Yep, or even better just work out the notes by ear/trial and error. Then you don't have to rely on someone else having done it, and it will improve your skills...
Dan Clark
Guitar Pro is like the super mega deluxe version of power tab, does the same thing though.Anyone have anyway good I can host songs and stuff? Wouldn't mind uploading some of my post rock creations.

Janson
bit of an a custom fan? about dw/ocdp/any american "custom" company; you'll hardly get your money's worth. Sure, dw have their own shells, but they used to have Keller shells, which (as you may know) most of the american "custom" companies use, like ocdp, pork pie, etc. Keller shells are not very expensive, you're just paying for the name. They do sound REALLY good though, so don't be put of. I'm just weird about drums. saw a dw collector's kit at a local drum shop few weeks ago, in red sparkle wrap. looked fine until i saw the seam on the wrap; it was SHOCKING.nice setup you've got though! VERY good choice on getting great cymbals before a good kit. it's all good with good heads and a bit of tuning.
TheCircus
Guitar Pro is like the super mega deluxe version of power tab, does the same thing though.Anyone have anyway good I can host songs and stuff? Wouldn't mind uploading some of my post rock creations. What type of files are they, are you talking about somewhere you can host mp3's of your songs you've recorded, or the midi files exported from GP?Either way, make a myspace music site for Mp3s and for the midi files export them as mp3's using Quicktime or something) and put them on a myspace site.BUMP lol www.myspace.com/thewalkabouts06 SONGS UP! Woop woop woop! Opinions on them?I think you've tightened your snare too much, it sounds annoying, also the toms sound too muted and I can barely hear your bass drum. Not a big fan of your music either, but it's really not something I would listen to so ignore me.
Billy
I've played drums for 6 years (although not seriously, I've never owned a kit) and guitar for about 5. I play in a post-rock band with my mates, we're doing a full UK tour with our mates Capulet . Its gonna be epic.
Janson
formed a new band with a mate and a bassist friend of his. it's really interesting.also, may be swapping my k custom medium ride for an A sweet ride instead.. i thought i'd like the K more but i want something washier. loved the darkness of the K but unfortunately it wasn't washy and crashable enough for me. it's nice, as it's not too clangy/pingy either, it's very subtle..i hope the swap with the Sweet ride goes through; i think it'd work better for me.
