N Roach
Hey,1)Thinking of switching my hopes over to BB7's (Dual) would changing brakes make any differnece in proformance? 2)Would 203mm be too big for dual disk on a mod?cheersnafan Edited June 12, 2007 by chocolate_bikes
tom 20
If you went to avids i would just get the 160 or the 180. My hope seems to be better than my mates 180 in a way that it stops and bites alot nicer and quicker. But i seriously doubt you need the 203 on a mod as its too powerfull.Tom.. Would worry more about hitting them beefy disks
James Quigley
Dont get it because it's too powerful?Thats like saying ''your brake works too well, it doesn't slip at all when you do a gap, you always need slippage''Okay so maybe 203's are a bit extreme for mods, but only because 180's are awesome too. Greetings
You've got a mod, there's no need for such a powerful brake. A 180mm Mono Trial will definitely not slip (had a setup like that and it was way stronger than a maggie). Extra weight, greater chance you hit the rotor, what's the point?edit: my point being that if a hydro brake is powerful enough, get a hydro because it feels better. personally i'd only use a bb7 if every hydraulic brake on the market was too weak for my needs. Mark W
I used to run a BB7 203mm up front on my mod, and I was fine with it. Rotor got knocked a few times but didn't bend, and it was so powerful that even if the disc was contaminated with water or whatever, it still just worked fine. (in power and locking) I run double disk, so i mean the performance of the F and R Edited June 12, 2007 by chocolate_bikes
James Quigley
In that case I wouldn't bother swapping over unless you feel your current brakes aren't performing well.
