Billy
I've been working on ways of getting up things that isn't straight to backwheel. I'm trying hopping up to front wheel, which is working out and can do it up about 6 bricks high. I've tried the odd little tap, but theyre a bit hard yet. So, I tried sidehops. And tried. And tried. And tried. etc.I know how to do them, I just can't. I try leaning to the side I want to hop to, but I just lose balance. I've tried some just going straight up, to see if I can at least get the height, but I just go up a bit and back a lot instead. I put a cardboard box out in my street and tried sidehopping over it, so at least I wont hurt myself if I fall. Is this a good idea? Just practise hopping over stuff like this? Or am I wasting my time? Should I find a little wall/ledge instead? Would that be more productive? Should I hop and land just on the backwheel, or both wheels?Sorry for another sidehop thread, but I'm desperate!
Aaron_W
hey dude what you shouddo it get some palets. there were well good.i got them when i was learning side hops. it helped me really goodand i think on a small ledge you should try and land on the back wheel but on a high ledge you should try and land on both wheels. Matthew_Gibson
Try pallets or a wall. better gooing onto something than sidehopping air. I tryed side hopping a foot high rail and failed. thats was over the rail . just felt odd as the from wheel goes down too quick
Mat Smith!
Get about 6-7 pallets and you'll be good.Just start on 2, and learn technique, then start to get bigger, more controled, try to took the bike up as much as possible to get higher.Just takes time to be able to shift your body weight into the right possition n stuff.Good luck.Matx
steve@banbury-trials
when you side hop kick the pedals in a simular fashion to a back hop, this will stop you going backwards this will feel really awkward at first but you'll get used to it.also have the front wheel in the air instead of on the floor prior to hopping, i find i can pre-load the rear tire better .hope i've helped, steve
