Concussion
I'm on a 8mb phone line connection with Pipex Broadband, the one with `the Hoff` Every night from about 6 - 11 my speed drops down to about 209.40kbps... or so. Man that pisses me `hoff`!Tech guy tells me I have to share the bandwidth with other users and there is nothing they can do/Britain isn't set-up to handle the current rate of broadband internet users, blah, blah. Also, if I change ISP's it will basically be the same whoever I use... seemed an honest guy to be fair.Is he talkin shit or what, fancy doing a speed test and telling my who your ISP is / are you on cable? (which I can't get in my area)Tiscali Speed TestWould really appreciate it!

Tomm
Each ISP has a share ratio, where you particular line is shared with x other customers. Usually this is around 20:1 (I.e. 20 people to one connection), but some have more, some less. Depending on what you have with Pipex, you may be able to get faster speeds by changing to someone with a better ratio.
