Mat Smith!
washing up liquid and warm water, on rim and pads, just clean everything, then sand over the pads, and maybe your rim? lol, try abit of tar aswell, then ride around with the brake on to bed in or whatever.Matx
ManxTrialSpaz
Got any Monty brake spray?Alternatively. You could just live with it. Until you can get a grinder!!

Dan6061
Sand around your rim, then wash it with warm, soapy water. Then do the same to the pads. Put it all back on, soak the rim with water, and ride around with the brake on for a bit. You should get bubbles all over the tyre, looks like foam? and some dirty water left on the rim. Just keep rinsing it off, and keep riding with the brake on.It should start getting louder and better each time you do it.Works for me every time. I haeve a smooth rim and Zoo pads. - Which get dirty and shitty before you even ride. So I pretty much have to clean it before each time I ride... anzo
It'll be the silicon in the spray making your brakes shitty, as said, use washing up liquid and warm water. Washing up liquid is a degreaser and will shift it all ..Yea...pretty much quoting what everyone else said

Dave Lowe
Well there’s a good lesson for every one, don’t put silicon on you tires…For those that don’t know silicon (apart from the sealant) in a lubricant, you wouldn’t cover your tires with grease or 3 in1 oil, if you have a good look on the can of tire shine (basically silicon spray) it will say only use on the tire side wall keep away from brakes disc tire tread etc.I can see it making rail gaps lethal. El Cristoff
whitespirit or petrol the sidewalls of your rims? leave it to dry then wipe away the residue. worked with mine when i got WD-40 on it. then just sand down the pads to fresh material and your away.
