shogun_gimp
I have heard loads of people saying how they have cut/scared the shins! So i was thinking..... why not wear shin pads..... there cheap and will stop the cuts on your shins. What do you think good idea or not? Nigel. Pagie
Not a bad idea, but think when your out riding they will make your legs sweat bags. I used to do this when riding my hardtail on dirt because i used naff pedals the only downside was the amount my legs sweated.

Nigel.this is no new idea, go to a comp and you are bound to see about 10 people wearing them.i personally would prefer to cut my shins on the rare occasions i do rather than constantly having to faff about with uncomfortable, sweaty leg protection which will make me look like a complete knobber too.not worth the hassle IMO
Mod Man Leo
No new idea here.Yeah, in comps plenty of people were them, In downhill and harder riding basicly evryone weres them.
mat da man
i ware them!!! the pads are neoprene and are ripped to shreds so if i wasn't wearing them my legs would be a right mess! there not expensive and are worth it.... but they make your legs sweat soooooo bad
Dan w
I used to wear them. People are talking about comps and how people wear them there.1. They where them because theyll do one section maybe only 2 minutes take them off then put them back on.2. They are proffesional maybe the big things they do could seriously damage there shins more than maybe some other stuff people do.3. It helps younger people to wear and be encouraged to wear protection. "Ohh if the pro's are wearing them im going to aswell"says dillan:PAnyway thats what i thinkThanksDan

eskimo
It all depends on what pedals you run. If you have them crappy muilti branded cage pedals then it would be silly not to wear pads. But if you run short pin pedals then it usually doesn't end up with a large gash down your shin. Either way it's still frustrating.

With worn down slippy Jim C pedals i no longer suffer from gashs to the shin. Just a nice painfull bashing
