Matthew_Gibson
What chain you using? Its its a fat KMC or a Collapse. thee will need to be spacers to make the space bigger for the width of the chain
*PHIL*
What chain you using? Its its a fat KMC or a Collapse. thee will need to be spacers to make the space bigger for the width of the chainThats what i thought, i had a similar problem where one link of the chain was sticking out only VERY slightly and it caught on the tensioner every time it went round till it eventually jammed it..Im using the 3/32 kmc chain now its it great

tryallmaster
how old is the tensioner? it could be that the spring has worn and slack.
Heatsink
Hes got a KHE collapse lol. That size chain won't fit properly on my Rohloff at all! There's a limit to how much you can space them out due to the circlip on the top axle (you can replace the lower axle with a longer M4 bolt). I don't know if they've varied the design, but mine only allows 2mm extra of clearance, that's if you remove the 2mm spacer on the outside of the cage (between cage and circlip), and add a 1mm washer either side of the upper and lower sprockets.I've got a KHE Collapse to fit now only by getting a new longer top axle turned up by Dave85. It looks rather pimpin' with the replacement CNCed gold sprockets Steve
AdamR28
Works fine with mine - sounds like you need to space the cages out Beau, that's what myself and Stan have done. Give us a call if you want a hand with it AdsEdit after Steve's edit: There is indeed a limit, but we've found there's enough extra room by just removing the washer under the circlip
TomN
Yeah you will need to space it out if you haven't done so already as that one i swap with you was a bog standard rohloff for a normal chain only.

N.Wood
My setup of DMR tensioner skippied under load due to a bent King Kog.Doesn't have to be out by much to make it skip
hugh_b
when you say jumping? Is it skipping? If youve put a new chain on with old sprockets that would be why, the chain would just need wearing in. If you havent it sounds like the other guys have got you covered. huge
If spacing it out doesn't work (didn't work when I had this problem) then remove the screw that rests on the bottom of the mech hanger. This will make the tensioner rest on the chainstay giving more chain wrap around the cog. Edited June 8, 2007 by huge
