Tall_Rob
If you think about it, if you rode natural on dry, clean surfaces that had sharp edges, you wouldn't need any tread. You would probably get similar grip from the slick compared to a minion/try-allThe tire will form around whatever edge it is gripping to, so sometimes nobles are not essential. Just more versitle.Wouldn't work in mud, gravel, grass or wet.My last boss talked about it lots when i was looking in to a new tire.Rob

Joe Papasnap Maher
Yer that should be koxx's motto." You get less if you pay alot more " lol
poopipe
Yer that should be koxx's motto." You get less if you pay alot more " lolbe fair - if you consider the extra manufacturing costs of grinding the tread off the existing tyres it wouldn't be unreasonable to charge a bit extra. Has anyone seen my shoe?
Rolling resistance isnt that big a problem is it?
Tall_Rob
My last minion got rinsed. It was the 2.5 and looked pretty much the same as the try-all....But i still had loads of grip in the wet/dry and when i did natural aswell. You can still get loads of grip.Great for doing more than 360 spins too..... getting close to

future orange 660
smooth tyres are good for going fast.can you explain why a bold tyre as in worn out has little grip on objects........... just slips off
Geeâ„¢
Maybe it's meant for riding to and from places? Other than that i really cant see any use for such a pointless tyre, who with a brain would ride with that

ScotchDave
smooth tyres are good for going fast.can you explain why a bold tyre as in worn out has little grip on objects........... just slips offWell, on a normal tyre once it look smooth like that you've worn out all the "grippy" rubber and are down to the stiff ungrippy rubber. In this case the top layer is made of "grippy" rubber and is smooth. So there's more "grippy" rubber in contact with any surface you're on, the theory of friction tells us that the more of a substance there is in contact with another surface the more friction there is... So for street this may actually work, doubt it though.
mat hudson
another warm reception to a new product from tf but seriously just make a tyre with decent sidewall grip and close block centre tread. sketchy sidehops just aint happening with no side nobbles.
