Ribo's the way forward, really comfortable and stronger then the try-all shoes in my opinion, really good grip, lightweight and offer loads of support. I love mine make riding seem nicer aswel for some reason...

Cheers

I think tryall are very good they are comfy and dont flap around, also they give you alot of ankle support i found which is weird at first but then eventually is cool.

But the wear rate is poor if you are usin them every day :(.

cheers me.

sorry about the spelling the spell cheack dose not work.

Skate trainers for the win thats what i use and they have really good grip and are comfy as fook.

Question: Do trials specific shoes like ribos tryall ect actually give ankle suport and does it make any difference. Im guessing its not going to stop you from breaking your ankle but does it actually suport your ankle in anyway?

I have to ask, whats the advantage of having ribos/tryall shoes over say, DC's or etnies? I use DC courts and they are lasting well, theses good grip and the sides haven't ripped off unlike the adidas superstars I used to ride in previously. I understand that the said shoes are designed with trials use in mind, but what makes it worth paying that bit extra to have them?

No, and they are not designed to. The only thing that offers ankle support is an ankle support (Y)

Then why the fook is there the gay shoe rule that you have to have trials shoes in internation ect comps thats just royally gay. I dont understand why people dont wear skate trainers, they look better are soooo comfortable and last yonks.... I went tkmax and got some duffs as my riding trainers for 30quid and they are mint for riding in.

But well strapped, they do prevent a fair bit of ankle twisting (ok, if you bail off high and land in the middle of an awkard angle, its' not bomb proof either).

I just twisted my ankle again and blame it on temporarily wearing non-trials-specific-shoes (N) .

They also protect that rounded inside bit of your ankle (against magura cylinder/brake booster attacks, and other such nasties which I find rather painful)

Definitely worth it if you ride a lot. Apparently, the Montys are not as strong as they used to be, the side fabric goes off. Waiting for the new Ribos that look very well designed.

I absolutely love the pair i have. Theyre by far the best ones i've tried. the only trials shoes i havent tried are monty and tryall sole b's.monty have the davos sole too but i still like the design that Tarty put into their shoes.the new ones imo give alot more feel but still remain so comfy without being too tight or loose.the ratchet supports your foot alot which i think was mentioned earlier in the topic .i really would hold out for these.

The normal tryall ones are nice but the sole is too soft for me and pretty rapidly wear through. The davos sole is the way forward.
