New Coustellier Pro Model

Does anyone else think they are close to cutting away too much material from the BB yoke??

I guess only time will tell...

YES THEY ARE!!

oh my god, i think kenny wud be quite amused they have decided to put that bbyoke back on a bike! The original karbons that kenny was going through like MJ goes through faces had that BByoke on it and thats exactly where they snapped! Hence, why the karbons now dont have the holes through them like the new coust has. IMO, id be watchin this frame with caution.

just something to consider..

on the plus side, horizontal dropouts i have thought for years would be good on 26 and its nice to see some coming out, the new mbk and the coust, hydroxx etc. I think it makes it look cleaner, no hanger to break, saves weight aswell (bout 250-300gms all up! - no hanger no derailleur, less chain is needed too!)

however with those dropouts, the bb rise is bit too high imo and personally i think the paintjob looks like a wiggles toy :S.... not my cup o tea

Hopefully you'll get away with it because of the triangular seat tubing. In theory, any pressure would be applied between top tube, brake stays and (the weak) bb yoke/chainstays.

Pfff... it's still a pretty stupid idea having a weedy yoke like that. Paint job looks the sex, koxx have it spot on this year with paint jobs.

im sure Mr Savage will be on one very shortly.

looks nice, colour is a "love or hate" thing. but going off the design and dropouts, looks nice.

if the back end of that bike is 135mm, they are going (or so id heard) to make a special dropout a bit like a DMR sliding dropout to put a mech on and gears on a 135mm hub (Y):) (NOTE!!! this is if the back end is 135mm, as it was a big factor for the BIU side of things)

Adam wouldn't do that, he's certified one hundred per cent sheep shagger :P

and i love you to Dave!

Now back to the subject, personaly i recon the rear end could do with being a litte longer, but then again with horizontal dropouts it is not so muich of a problem....

But say fr example if u run 18-16 the ear end will be shorter due to moving the wheel forward, hence why if i had one i think i would run my tensioner and then wack it right back!

Davetrials asked why it’s taken so long to release when he saw it at KOXX DAYS. It’s all part of the extended testing program that KOXX put their frames through, the new Coustellier is a light competition frame and has been well tested in that environment.

The frame price has been set at £495, not cheap, but £200 less than the XTP used to be, so it’s a move in the right direction.

Complete Bike £1450.

I’ll be picking some up in a couple of days.

Can you confirm that the yoke is the same as used on the first few Karbon prototypes?

and those dropouts...

But the frame design is solid, probably the best! which is why its been so widely used.

quality bike!

edit: meant to quote about chainstays/bb yoke as well, that seems the weekest part to me because they're hollow :o

it's nice but...i dont think ill be paying £500 for a frame thats gona get wrecked in no time. I think those sort of prices are taking the p**s really. If it was around the £350 or even £400 mark i'd probably have one but i dont wana spend that much on a frame. :)
