max-t
Does anybody know a really good pair of snail cams that will keep my wheel inline! I have been using the try all ones which seem to be crap. Those of you who were at the DJ ride yesterday who know me would have realised how crap my chain tension was. Any ideas on what to do to stop it moving

modman
The Tryall ones are whack, i had them on my XTP but i got a set of monty ones, they are much better as they ridges in them to stop them from moving. very effective, lightweight and well cheap, i think they're like £5 from tartys. basher
Monty ones or the new fresh product ones as they suposidly have small and closer together ridgets giveing better adjustment than the old ones.

0llie
have you thought of making your own, inmstead of aluminium use steel, much stronger and then the notches might hold better? i know ive found with mine, the deng ones that they dont hae notches, but where i ran the wheel it made its own notch and now doesnt adjust very well as it will only sit in that notch, its a shame chain tugs wouldnt work on the mod stocks but you could always run a 74kingz job? or homemake one?cheers ollie

0llie
I have, but id prefer to not have extra things to worry about and just want to keep it simple wel the hole idea is to have no tensioner and to be honest running one would solve the problem but ruin the idea of the modstock, i wish they had brought out the 74kingz before i had got my modstock, would save alot of hassle, and could just be normal ahah, but i got my frame then it came out but anyways, hope you sort it
python_man
well im running echo snail cams and they work fine, bit of hammering to gain major tension then tighten up the bolts, should loosen up, i have no chain slappage at all,bit or persistance and you will go fine,or you can be stupid and be bored like i was and do thishttp://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....c=92811&hl=find my post with pictures and please dont laugh nick

mods
thats a bit odd why would u want one smooth and one ridged?
King C
I dunno but the grey ones well cooool. I like
weebryan
CNC Snail cams -The ridged one is for the drive side to stop the wheel moving/chain going slack and the smooth on the other side is for fine adjustment so your brake dont rub cause ridges are realy hard to adjust. I think its a really effective but simple idea and also they weigh nothing and really work well, i think thats what on the new koxx bikes!!!
