trialsalot
thanks for that link but i already read that and it seems to be for mags that are tired and worn. mines not even a week old and has been used once this morning, oh by the way the tpa is all the way out.i just tried holding the most active piston in while pumping the lever and it moves but as soon as you let go of the most active it stops moving.Sorry if someone jus pops up with the answer but i havent messed with a mag in a looong time.keep the answers rolling in.craig

The Duck
Oil it and if there is still no joy, lightly sand round the edges of the piston.
Krisboats
Your not clamping it too hard in the brake clamps are you? It is possible to overtighten the clamps and put enough strain on the pistons to stop the cylinder moving properly.
Gaz M
if its so new howcome its bled with water? you bleed it straight away? Edited June 2, 2007 by Gaz M
Guest
Your not clamping it too hard in the brake clamps are you? It is possible to overtighten the clamps and put enough strain on the pistons to stop the cylinder moving properly.you mean compressing the metal so much it clamps around the plastic piston preventing it from moving??? trialsalot
i went from discs which were nice and easy to pull so yeah i water bled it straight away. waterbleeds are well nice. i'm gonna think about all those things and have a fettle on with it tonight and see whats up.cheers for the comments thoughcraig
Dan6061
I'm thinking you should've left the oil in ther for a bit, to bed it all in or whatever. - Do they even need to bed in?You might have an oil/water mixture in the brake, which could make it go a bit shitty. When you bled it, did you properly wash all the oil out? Or did you just do it as normal?
trialsalot
blasted all the oil with a track pump.the brake feels solid. i had a play around with it just before and got some silicone lube on the pistons and its started moving.slowly but surely.craig
Krisboats
you mean compressing the metal so much it clamps around the plastic piston preventing it from moving???Yeah, i think it was adam form tartybikes who wrote it on here aaaaaaaages ago, might be wrong but i'm 80% confident it was him. Deonn h
That surley isnt possible , wouldnt it just strip the threads of the frame before compressing the metal.
SCOTTY___
If its bled with water, and the water inside the pipes is frozen... surely just put it next to a radiator :x what i used to do lolORif he means hes got a lazy pistens, as I'm getting to from the reply's then im sure theres something in the FAQ about it. holding oneside in, zip tieing to brake lever to the bars and standing the bike up over nite? go have a nosy
trialsalot
hey everyone. all sorted now.pumped the lever lots and kept lubing the pistons so it sweet as a nut now. probably summit to do with tight seals or summit and not bedding it in.craig
Ben Cox
haha, so what happened is you actually shot every single bit of oil out of the brake before it could get to the pistons and bits to lube em up? donkey

gianttrials
if its so new howcome its bled with water? you bleed it straight away?thats what i said???Not when it's bled with waterthen thats his problem, voiding warranty straight away, it makes me think though y havent magura started doing water bleeds because it would save them so much money by not using expensive oil (and non-expensive water), hhhmm maybe its because they know whats best
