Bedding In A Bb7?

Got my newly fitted bb7 back this morning, and it's pretty good, but not as good as it could be (from trying friend's brakes).

I've bedded it in a bit using the ole' water+short fast stops, and it's good with the water on, squeals like a b*****d too! But as soon as the waters dried, performance ebbs away a bit, is it just a case of using it and the power will come? or is there an alternative?

many thanks

Dean

spit on finger- put a blob on both sides of disk ride with brake on slightly- repeat and repeat again this will work.

no don't do that

chuck water on, ride around, do this a couple of times.

problem could also be your lever, if you have one thats solid then buy a lever that has abit of sponge (avid sd7 ***) basically i bough the new lever and my brakes performance doubled

put mine on yesterday, exactly the ame, beast in the rain but pretty poor in the dry, been riding around with water on it for ages, still not working.

I want it for the dj ride!!!!

edit : just been out pouring water on it, run around with front brake on til it gets really hot, pouring more water on. Did it for about 20 mins now its mint.

Do you lose performance again though? or does this really work?

The heating it up thing generally does really work (Y). Water and heat is the best thing of all.

The other thing you can try is really gritty muddy water, loads of DHers use it to bed discs in in a hurry before races. Works a treat, just use if from a field or somewhere, not a roadside puddle in case there's some oil in it.
