Hello all. Ive just got my self some 106 gti wheels to go on my 106 indipendece(sp?) which has the standard steel wheels.

Am i going to need spacers? (dont say just fit them because i dont have wheel nuts yet and its raining)

thanks all.

No.

Not sure why you think they'll need spacers either? If its a 106, and there 106 designed wheels, they'll fit. :)

Its only when you get wheels from another model/car that spacers and offset become issues to deal with.

Yeah thats exactly what i thought myself it just the wheels are wider than the older ones. But then if the gti version has them as standard then they must fit becuase the frame(chassis whatever) is the same.

But i am right in saying ill need different bolts?

He may still need different bolts fred, easiest is to check with a dealer. Often alloys have a different taper requirement than the steels, you might be lucky however.

Eg, im running my porsche wheels using std golf wheel bolts, but on the mini there about about 30 different types of wheel nut depending on the wheel! i have at least 3 types of wheel nut just designed for steel wheels at home (10"s were diff to 12", and then some 12" had integral hubcap thingies).
