PaRtZ
I want to run my front disc cable through my top cap + forks. I currently have a monty stem which is angled. Now as far as Im aware the only few people to do hollow star nuts, bolts + top cap sets have them in FLAT varietyFor exampleso im just asking, I need to run the hollow starnut, which takes the hollow m7 (ish) bolt, which needs a big hole in the top cap. Drilling is my last option, but any other ideas?cheers
Simpson
Using a metal bar of the same diameter and make it like a triangle slope, so that the top can sit flat and the sloped bit of metal will take the slope off the topcap? surley wouldnt be that hard if you used a protractor or something and doesnt need to be that strong really..... Monty are one of the very few companies who do sloped stems, so your almost going to have to buy one of these and drill the hole bigger in the monty top cap. Its not really too big of an issue is it? Mat Smith!
Just curious, why do you want to put it through there?Would it not be easyer to get a longer hose? because the rear would just get tangled too, if your planning on twisting the bars loads.Matx

Ash-Kennard
don't get a giro, they make the break really hard to pull and are generally more problems than they are worth.

RobinJI
A well set-up gyro will work with a Vee break fine, they can pull just about enough cable. Also a well set-up good quality gyro will still give a very well performing break, but you might have a job finding a rear cable section long enough for use with a rear disc.To be fair a long slick cable should still give an easy 2 or 3 rotations, which is by far enough for most people. But it still helps to put the front break through the top-cap. Front break cables get tangled way easier than rear ones. (oh yeah, I'm pretty sure there M8 if it helps at all)
