Bike Size

Recommended Posts

I am exactly 6foot 1" ^_^ and I ride a new monty pr, used to ride an x-lite. Was really short but loved it. I would defonatly recomend looking at a 26" though maybe gu or adamant ect because I am now debating if I should swap as the monty does feel abit small.

i agree your first bike will take a beating to start off with so id go for an onza or something but as for size well it really depends what you like. Whether you like to have a smaller bike which is easier to control and for hopping around a bit more or weather you want a larger bike that you can just roll on to stuff. Personally if i was you i would go for a 26" because of your height.

i think that your best bet would be to tag along with a group ride sometime and try different steeds to get a feel for what you could get.

steve

my thoughts exactly...just try out both..although i would have though that a stock ( 26" ) would suit you better

Your height really makes no difference to what size bike you should ride.

My mates 6' 4", and rides a T-Pro, which is around 1000mm wheelbase.

He went from an Adamant A1, to the T-Pro, just because he prefers riding mod to stock.

If you have any local rider, could you just ask if you can have a quick go to get used to it? I know it's easier said than done, but just explain that you want to start the sport or something.. just have a chat?

Its all about personal preference.

I think personally 26" bikes are easier to maintain. Chain tension is easy! :P

But I personally ride 20" because when i first tried a trials bike I preferred the smaller wheels :)
