Its a Monty dual disc, and the tensioners are f**ked I know that. will chain tugs work with this frame? Also does this look right? VVV Which chain tensioners are the best?I really dont want to get rid of this bike, being a pain, I new i would need to chop and change a few things but its really getting of my tits! lol! Also How on earth do you get the Zoo bash guards off? I'd rather run a bash plate that a bash. Thanks a lot!
El Cristoff
does it have the little holes in the side of the dropout?

PaRtZ
the bit where the arrow says "sits out 5mm" is that the rear axle? if so that will NOT work. as you tighten the fun bolts up, the washer/head of the bolt wont touch the frame meaning its pointless. You either need to:cut down the axle (eeek)Move the axle more centralBend the dropout out and put some washers in the axle on the inside of the frame. However it looks like the same hub as mine, in which case if you put snail cams on the inside, they will act as washers and give you the correct spacing. weebryan
Clean bikes sell the correct monty ones with the small bolts and the fit to the outside of the frame this is why the axle will be bigger
Savage
From your pics it looks as though your axel has pulled through the bearing to far in one direction. Put a bolt in and tap it back so its central. As Partz said, it can never work if the axel protrudes through the frame.Ben.
AdamR28
put snail cams on the inside, they will act as washers and give you the correct spacing. That's exactly what I do with mine on the drive side (looks like a Monty 221 Pr frame you have there?) - works a treat On the disc side though you're best off leaving the snail cam on the outside (just slip it over the axle before tightening the bolt down) for 2 reasons: The serrated axle end bites into the frame better than a flat plate of alloy, thus keeping your wheel in place; and if you put a spacer (snail cam) between the axle end and the frame you'll mess up the spacing between your disc mount and disc rotor. Both the Monty and Try-All snail cams will work great with that frame. The axles on the Monty 221 Ti rear disc hubs have shoulders for the bearings to sit on, so everything looks to be in order in that aspect (no need to tap the axle in/out/shake it all about). The axles do stick out of the end caps a little more on that hubs than others though so it can look like the axle may be dislodged.Hope that helps Adam
The Duck
try-all snail cams Try-All snail cams are shite, you want the ones with ridges so they don't slide around all over the place.

I run the same set-up, I just used a 2/3 mm washer on either side of the axle to fill the gap, then use the snail cams on the outer side of the frame, hope this helps.Monty snail cams are best imo, but tarty are out of stock.
