If i buy a network adapter for my Playstation 2 will it work with my wireless internet connection?

Basically this is what i want to do,

-Buy a cheap network adapter

-Plug it in and connect to my wireless internet (possible?)

-Put in my new rainbow 6 game

-Play online.

Is this how it works or are there hidden charges etc.

I have searched google, and i just can't find information on how it all works, what i have to do, how much it costs, anything.

So somebody that know what there talking about...

Cheers, Rorz

I've used it a little bit and it seemed ok. I didn't get any lag when playing and found gamers straight off.

Basically if you have a Slimline then all you need is a ethernet cable connected to your pc or router or whatever. Pc being the easiest to setup. If you have a fat older style PS2 then yeah you will need that hard drive network thinga majiga.

Then you need to send off email/phone (can't remember) some details (no bank details or anything like that). Then you receive the disk setup wizard thing and a code to input a few days later.

It is free and once setup which is easy enough then you are all go.

Certain games like Phantasy Star you have to pay for online but there aren't many on the PS2 which you do get charged.

Considering it's free and that i never had any problems it's worth trying it out to get rid of boredom or just for the crack.

I'm guessing RB6 is a new game so there will be plenty of players online to play as well.

Good luck. PM if you have any more questions.

Ohhhhh Lockdown, i know now. Yeah i would of thought there would a be a few players online. When i played it on Xbox it was quite fun i remember. (On live)

Going by how old the network adapter box hd thing is i guess wi-fi is a nono. So an ethernet cable to your pc is the best bet. Still i would contact Playstation to be sure.

Looking on PS website i found this. Might be of some help or just retracing what you already know.

Also checking out on a quick search on ebay looks like £10+ for a network adapter. If your consol is on it's last legs it might not be worth it unless you get a game and ethernet cable as well.

Anyhow up to you.

Slim for the win. I want FF12 :P

10er is worth it, dose it have to go to my router or can it go to my laptop.

Either i would of thought but both will require some sort of config. With the computer/ laptop it just needs to share a connection. No idea about the router? I don't really know too much.

Off to bed now  4am wake up
