Boswell
About a year ago some council workers came up to me and my mates and they started talking to us about trials, they then said they where going to try to get some facilities built for us and we told them what we wanted a log section ect. Just recently the so called trials facilites where built, it is a BLOODY SKATE PARK! On another occasion some police officers came up to me and my mates when we where riding some walls and wrote us all tickets and told us to go into the skate park, i mean how stupid can you get. Do you think our sport is misunderstood and are you as frustrated as me.
poopipe
I'm not, no. Unless you have an interest in trials or bmx you'll assume a little bike that people bounce around on is a bmx - everyone knows bmxers like skateparks so they expect you to ride in the skatepark that they spent thousands of quid building. Trials isn't well known but you're no worse off than freestyle bmxers were in the late 80s / early 90s - everyone just assumed bmx was racing so they built racetracks and not skateparks. If anything you're better off on a trials bike because street spots are easier to find.If you don't want to get fined ride on private property, otherwise you just have to accept the risk. Being polite and co-operative is usually enough to avoid trouble with coppers, they're only human and they don't want to do the paperwork involved in fining you. ALEX@BIKETRIALSFUN
Yah I was riding some walls with my mates and this man came up to us and said to us go up the bmx track and we said we don’t ride that kind of stuff we ride urban and then he said we bloody pay our cancel tax fore that and ur going to like it. Then he said…….if he sees us again on walls he was going to bend our bikes round our heads then we rode off before some one got hurt because he started pushing us off our bike of the walls. I think ever one knows about bmx why cant they know about trials and make us some were to ride or at lest let us ride on the walls etc.
Muel
Because it isn't your wall, and trials bikes make bangy scratchy noises when bailing.People don't know about trials, but do know about bmx, because bmx was all the rage when they were young. Now trials is still not as big as bmx but most kids understand what it is.As our generation gets older, trials will become a more widely understood thing. Also when they come and yell at you and start swearing at you, asking nicely first wouldn't kill them, would it?
