Alan Posted May 29, 2007 Report Share Posted May 29, 2007 Well i know davey just made a topic on peoples current job's, but as ive just left school and going to be needing a job pretty soon, but i can't decide what i want to do......???At 18 i really want to join the fire brigade, but i need a job to do up until then, so what are some of you thinking of doing?Or what did others do for a job from 16-18?Alan. Fixed Pants™ Posted May 29, 2007 Report Share Posted May 29, 2007 Depends.6th form doing dt and business and possibly IT. if i get the grades.College if not, doing car repair and servicing.Maybe an apprenticeship doing car stuff which means college too.In the 3 month summer holiday we have, I'd like to get a job in hellfrauds or a bike shop. Only did it for 7 month's. I wish i'd of done something useful, but i would'nt of known if i hadnt of tried it in the first place i guess. I am now applying for a job and have a conditional place on a first national diploma in motorsport engenering. I am also taking a airbrushing course in july and in two years time i hope to apply for a apprentaship with mercades in body prep and spraying. Posted May 30, 2007 Report Share Posted May 30, 2007 hopefully going to go to college and do some highers then go to uni and do geology and petroluem geology. if not i'll go to college and do some sort of mechanical engineering then i'll apply for a degree coarse in motorsport engineering (although i can't see there being many jobs which will be actual motorsport and i'll most likely end up doing something else.) Although the lata is more likely, as it gives me longer to train.And if that all fails, I'll most likely end up working as a posty or try out for the fire brigade. Posted May 30, 2007 Report Share Posted May 30, 2007 (edited) Ive just left school and am waiting for my exams to finish, then im going to work full time over the summer holidays, in a shopping centre near london, as they give something called london waiting which is about £1 extra an hour for a 1/2 train journey. Then hopefully i will be minted (ish) and i can buy a 50cc bike, and that will be that.As for education, ive passed ICT, so im ready to start college in september doing a Btec in games development .I am going to miss school though... EDIT: I got a letter for my NI card, but my mum lost it, so i need to re-apply. Where can i do this? thanks. I was at colege doing publice service for fire man then left hated it. Was a bum for ages ade new vid for you lot hahahaha. Still did nothing then i was very lucky a carpentry corse for a big company come up at conexions and i aplied and out of 700 people 20 got in and im one of them woop loving it now can be earning the dollers if i stick at it. Sent mine off to halfords in about july last year, didnt get a phonecall untill november, where upon i got the job =) so no its not really pointless.
