PaRtZ
Uch probably been posted before but mehI love riding but at the moment im struggling to find the urge to ride because im on my own. I dont know what it is, but if Im with someone else Ill just have the urge to do something either stupidly bigger than normal, or do a move with random crazy spinning in it too. But riding on my own i barely make the effort to keep some moves as good as usualanyone else suffer with this problem? do other people find it easier/harder to ride with other people cos of population density? Does anyone have any methods of getting over the lonely riding fatness?discuss your thoughts

tom 20
I find i get bored more quickly in different areas because of the lack of conversation. A friend will suggest a line or certain trick to pull of. But then again i sometimes like riding on my own as i get more imaginative but then i would rather be with a friend.Tom... An_toin3
Where i live we are 2 riders.., and most of time I ride alone, it has been like that for 2 years, but a few months ago I got bored of trials, I have even put up my bike for sale, but havn't sold it yet as it's hard to sell a trials bike here !, so I still have it, I was using it 1time a week just to pass time, but now I getting more back into it ! but the fact that I was always riding alone most of the time didn't help ! I think that it is good to have a good balance of both ! Edited May 29, 2007 by An_toin3
mods
do people find that music helps or puts you off riding?
Joe Aston
Iv ridden on my own since i started riding trials. No one in my town rides any type of riding part from some gay roadies. I follow the words of the i pod advert and "plug into a higher source" in my case an ipod full of music thats what keeps my riding. Iv got a mate that comes out if i beg him a lot but he spends most of his time with his girl friend. Riding on your own isnt great but if it keeps you riding its all good. I go through patches where i just dont wanna ride because its boaring but if i can make myself get out on my bike i feel better for it after.Joe
Janson
ridden alone all the time pretty much. first rider in town, a mate rode with me for about a year but quit. then i moved to gothenburg where there are more riders but still mostly ride alone. it's a convenience thing for me, to be able to go out whenever, wherever and for however long i feel like. though riding with people is much more fun and rewarding. Greetings
Very often ride alone. It can be boring but with a slight change of attitude you'll start enjoying it.Personally, when riding alone, I have more time to concentrate and do things i'm not quite sure of, experiment etc. The key to keeping yourself entertained is riding with good music. Well, depends if you're a music freak or not. If I had near my house the rocks you have, I'd just take my iPod, get to the rocks and ride them as far as possible. Maybe take a camera and tripod with you as it might make you push yourself more so you can make an interesting vid at home (not for publishing, just for yourself). Got endless vids of myself on single solo rides with the music i was listening to at the time and the date. It's a good watch a year or two later. Make a vid with the same moves 365 days later, use the same angles and the same music - now that's fun!meh, spelling Edited May 29, 2007 by Inur

kid creole
I don't like riding alone its just not the same to me and i think its a bit more dangerous, like if you were to fall off knocking yourself unconscious and your in the middle of a field on some rocks theres know one to phone a ambulance , or if your in town at night your more likely to get started on if your by yourself. But if i had to i would ride by myself and i have done on occasion. Ali C
just been out on my own, it was great, sessioned a barge on the canal for a bit, but it kept on floating away spent about 2 hours riding though, was very cool.
andits
I find that when i ride alone i can sometimes practice better but then again riding with other people gives me inspiration and they can give me tips. Also it isnt as boring going riding with people but still good on your own if noone else can ride(y)
Netherking
yeah i don't seem to put enough energy into my riding when on me own. but saying that i have had good rides on my own but there really short.riding with others gives you some competition and ugre to impress even if your not a show off which i don't think i am because i'm still shit ha

Mike W
riding xc etc alone i suppose is ok but when it comes to trials i prefer to be around more people just for inspiration of things to do because everyones spotting different lines.mike
Alex.loves.boys
Plymouth isn't safe to ride on your own...I prefer riding with one maybe two people. For example when me and tyler go out i seem to try bigger stuff, and we ride where we want to, where as when theres a group, its not the same.meh. Billy
I'd love to be able to go out and ride on my own, but its just not safe round here. When I do go ridin in town with my mates, I always nip off to a little spot a little further away and just hammer at something I've been trying to do for ages, its the best way I reckon. No distractions or anything, just being able to do what you want, how you want etc.
AdamR28
Hmm, I don't really like riding by myself. Done it a few times but I just get bored really easily...
Muel
I do, but only in my back-garden because I have a load of reels and pallets. I also go round the corner, the other night I went to check my bike over for the holidays. My problem is that I always ride worse when my mates are there. Of course. Dr Dig
I hate riding alone, i dont feel like i ride as well as i know i can as theres no one to compete with so i dont push myself enough.
bristol_base
I find riding in a group has a entertaining factor, however riding alone allows you to dial the things you wouldn't normally get the time to practice as group rides move on to different spots to quickly etc...The key is to go out riding alone with a purpose eg try and master a certain move. You will get bored quickly if you ride as if you were with a group.Al
basher
I find when i ride in a group ride i do f**k all just hop about abit, where as if i ride with one or two others i get alot of riding done and depending on the riders they push me to go bigger. But i also tryed riding by meself other day for first time and i found it suprisingly good as i just got on with stuff and went and did what i wanted to and not what others wanted to. poopipe
I never push myself to do anything big or scary when I'm on my own cos I just don't fancy lying there bleeding for hours until someone wanders past and phones an ambulance. I do find it a good opportunity to endlessly practice pussy little tech stuff you're embarrassed to f**k up in front of other people
