OD404
I've been living in Coventry since September. While I don't know which areas are to be avoided, I can tell you that the area I'm living in now (Wyken) is pretty good. Though it's on the outskirts of the city, it has good links to the M6 and A45, which I need in order to get to work in Daventry and I've been informed by a friend that used to live in Coventry that it's a reasonable place to live. The plant sits on a hill overlooking the town so you can see how small the place is. What's Long Buckby like? The girlfriend and I have been considering moving there as she works in Northampton (and neither of us want to live there )
Todge
Avoid Hillfields, Bell Green (stolen things always end up there) and Radford. These are the bits I know of that are not good. Im living in Canley again next year, just on the outskirts of the city, near warwick uni and its a good area. Also lived in Stoke, which is ok, but more central (not for me). My mates have just moved into a place at Whitley, spose to be a good area. What do terex do?
Bigman
Terex make Diggers! have a ganders Terexce.comThanks there Todge, will try and avoid those places Also would be handy to be the top side of coventry, nearer to the M6 as that is where terex is.Adam

Prawny Baby's Baby
Personal opinion is the whole of Cov is dodgy, I used to get scared when the train stopped there!Long Buckby, a lovely place, it is a village but it is a rather large one. There is loads of stuff, shops wise we have a coop, costcutter, news agents, local butcher, 3 hairdressers, a chemist, beauty salon and a gym.Resturants are catered for with 2 different Indian resturants with a new one opening sone, a Chiense, Chiense takeaway, Pizza, Fish and Chips. There is a great Doctors surgery, NHS dentist (which I believe still has places). There are also 4 churchs, many clubs and societys, and a 3 pubs for the social life.More importantly there is a train station which takes you direct to Northampton or anywhere towards B'ham and 1 change at northapton/rugby and you can go right to London Euston. Very useful.Tis a nice place to live and if you are planning on settling down a great place to bring up kids.
OD404
No kids for the forseable future, but I passed through the other day and it reminds me slightly of where my parents live (and where I grew up). I'm not really one for the city life, I'd rather live somewhere quiet that is close to larger places.I must admit though, while my first impressions of Coventry were probably similar, all has been well so far and I've lived in far dodgier places Cheers for the info though.
