Who The f**k Keeps Buying These Shite Kids 2k Bikes!

When they get bored and try to sell them we all get good condition parts for dead cheap ;)

Criticise your bike and tell you that you should buy this, buy that! When you can only say that you "haven't got a mummy and daddy to buy me everything on demand."

The one thing I'd miss if I had a 2k bike bought for me, is the feeling when you get something new and upgraded. Would be shit if I just started out on an amazing specced bike cos I'd never get excited at little new things.
Real trials riders have the philosophy to trials too and understand that its defintly not about winning or being the best but its about chilling out with other riders. until they realise that i dont pay much attention to them (Y)

All excellent points. The only benefit to having a fantastic trials bike to start on is having something reliable. My brakes on my shogun gatecrasher were shocking, but after lookign at proper riders i upgraded to maggies, got better pads, and eventually ground my rim. Having a reliable chain from the start may have helped not injure my wrist, but its part and parcel of what we do. I wouldn't trade the experiences and knowledge i gained from fitting all my own parts and buying them individually one at a time for anything. Its whats made trials for me, i've gained experience with the bike itself, knowing what i like and what works and how to ride it properly too, which isn't something these kids will find. They aren't as close with their bikes as we are, because they've just had it bought... where as we have put hard work into it and can see how much we've accomplished both with the bike itself and with our ability to ride it. They just dont have the same level of appreciation.

If anything i feel sorry that they'll never know this, as its this strong appreciation of my bike that helps to strengthen my appreciation of the sport.

Dont let it stress you out!

when they quit because they cant ride up a curb they end up selling their bikes

to people like me who get new parts for quarter of the price!

think about it that way! its a good thing!

Peace,

Lewis

"all the gear no idea"

That'll be me once my bmx is done :$ Just waiting for the rest of the parts to arrive.

Although i've payed for it all myself.

I couldn't care less, i'd rarther buy something dear than cheap, that way it lasts longer. Plus if i do quit i could sell it for more than i could a n00b bike.

*Joke* (About the puncture bit)

I'm seriously considering selling mine and it's partly because it has a puncture

(it's mostly because trials bikes are a complete nightmare to maintain and I just can't be arsed spending longer fixing than riding anymore)

Same here, as well as my back being f**ked for a past year. I started to progress loads then I fell on my face, which royally raped my back. And now having a puncture makes me want to sell it.

s**t happens, but at the end of the day for peeps getting back in2 the sport its always good when little spoilt posh boys wanna sell there bikes and components cheap, esp as peeps that have been in the sport before probably know more whats good than complete beginners, so spoilt kids bad, but advantages from it for the rest of us when they cant ride

ooh, like me only i payed for it all myself :D

Same here! I have a wicked bike but only ride it for the equivalent of about an hour every two weeks! (if not less!) Kids having nice bikes doenst annoy me, I had a Cannondale when I was 11 - that I went halves on with my parents and rode for four hours everyday and all weekend. I saved for over two years every bit of money for that (including Xmas, two birthdays, £2.50 a week pocket money....)

if they know they cant ride and dont think they can its cool.

but if they are talkin shit about others and think they are the best they should die.

my bike is pretty decent but i suck and i know it, but i dont say to others that i am good (Y)

Also has anyone noticed that riders these days start out and learn the more higher ranked moves like sidehops and gaps etc. I mean people who have been riding less than two years are inch pushing on sidehops yet they can't even trackstand correctly. That makes me laugh more than anything else now about riding.

On the bmx scene it's all tailwhips and Profile hubs.

not only do you get cheap parts you sell parts for alot more than there worth as well for example i needed money for new wheels i had a set of echo wheels the rear one was close to a 18inch wheel it had so many flat spots and the front was barley ridable and the locals will back me up here it was caved now if one of my mates such as matt bird, rick or some one came over and said look i need wheels and i need yours for what ever reason id let both wheels go for about £20 as the hubs are still fine and stuff but no one wanted them and i couldnt blaim them i asked a kid that has a t-mag the new ones (spolit) and not caring about the condition he bought them off me for £100 and this has happend so many times i got a rear blue echo wheel mint condition just 2 spokes missing for £5 replaced spokes and trued wheel dead center sold it for £60 (Y) in a way its good and no one really gives it lip about this and that around here mainly beacuse there all arse licks if you can gap more than 5ft your a god. if me or one of the others that ride at a good standerd have had the part and then rip them off selling it to them they brag to others that they have it its silly. they sell all this stuff really cheap as its second hand but if all you ever do is ride it to the shops its not exacly going through heavey abuse is it.

dosent bother me unless they give me grief

(yes im awre i sware alot)

Im getting really annoyed seeing all these little kids who can just back hop, rolling around on £2000 koxx and monty's is it there parents, or are some compnies giving bikes away

back wen i started i had a massive jump bike.

well i bet if your parents offered you a 2k bike when your shit you would say thanks very much and wipe their arse for a week. its the parents choice. saying that i always had to fork out for bits myself

i saved up for ages to get my first bike, my good old t-pro. it had bmx handlebars, stem and forks, a bmx rear wheel and a 3 piece crank because i couldn't afford

good parts at the time. after about 5 months of having it, i finally thought 'i need a reare brake', i didn't even have HS-33 clamps, i had v-clamps bodged on and i learned on that (Y) just cause you have a amazingly speced bike doesn't mean your a great rider, but i think this is what chavios think.
