Willy
Hay all, I have a range of lens's that Im very interested at the minute but simply don't know what to get. I have around £250 to spend before we go anywhere. Right the ones im currently looking at are:Canon 50mm f/1.4Canon 28mm f/1.8Sigma 28mm f/1.8I'm after a good quality low light lens to accommodate for gig and UE photography. The 50mm is the ideal lens for low light, but not quite a wide enough angle for me. The 28mm f/1.8 seems perfect but I'm unsure (anyone), and the cheaper Sigma equivalent seems good aswell but has a fair few bad right ups (focusing issues, which does matter). I'm shooting with a 350D. And need help fast! Thank you for your time. Will. Edited May 25, 2007 by Willy
Dr. Nick Riviera
why would you want a prime lens for shooting gigs? and also UE to be honest.i know it will be better quality and such but you will need to move around a hell of a lot, or end up with the same picture every time.doesn't need to be the fastest of lenses anyway, because canons have great high ISO potential.have a look at some zooms anyway, might be of more use to you. F-Stop Junkie
I'm in the middle of selling the 20mm F1.8 Sigma and it's a great lens. Why not go for the Tamron 28-75 F2.8? It's only two thirds of a stop slower, but bright as heck all the way through! Bump the ISO up a stop (which is not a problem with Canon dSLRs!) and the lens is still fast enough to use the high accuracy AF sensors. Dr. Nick Riviera
aren't they going for about £600? or is that the 1.2?

tom e
the sigma 30mm 1.4? cheap, i've heared great things about it. it is around the same as a 50mm on a non crop body. 1.4 would be great for low light photography.hsm too, which is the equvilent to canons usm Edited May 26, 2007 by tom e
