b'mouth trials
Hey guys, im thinking im at a bit of a dead end with this but i just thought id post to see what people had to say about it really..Just got my 2007 monty Pr frame and while building it up, found that my beloved monty 221Ti forks do not fit!!!The steerer is waaaaay too short and just found it really odd as theres not that much difference between the two frames. I thought it might be that i was using a really big headset (fsa skypilot) but i tried a raceface one in there and it didnt make that much difference, certainly not an inch or two of difference which is what i need and i doubt even the slimmest headset would.Has anyone else found this and if so..what did you do about it? Will i have to splash out on a new pair of forks? Also, if i have to go for some crappy echo ones or something, does someone make an adapter so i can keep my monty sloping steerer stem??Its a shame as i love these forks, looks so good with the bike. While im at it, i might aswell ask peoples opinions are on mod forks, which ones to get? They have to have rake, i hate straight blades..Cheers people, Aaron.
omgnoseat
I'm an absolute noob on bike mechanics, but I do know that the monty 221TI has an internet headset, and the 221PR doesn't.Not sure if it has anything to do with this, but I thought it might help. Guest
I was wanting to get a set of Ti forks for my monty but never bothered because of this. From looking at photo's the Ti headtube seems to be a good bit shorter. I know the Pr headtube needs at least 180mm when used wih the Pr stem, and if you get echo forks for example all you have to do I use your grinder to grind your steerer to an angle, I run echo forks on mine fine.
