What Is That Creaking!

Is your BB isis or square?

Isis needs grease on it, square needs some good oil on it to stop the two surfaces rubbing and creating friction.

Is the BB tight and have lithium grease on the threads? Again, needs grease between the two surfaces.

Check the cranks are tight.......

Is the BB running smoothly, bumpy spots, grinding, stiff?

Could need replacing?

Sounds like a bearing problem maybe if it's not the cranks.

A good crank extractor SHOULD get them off. Whenever you put new cranks on you should always whack some copperslip on the taper and the inside of the crank, so as 1) it doesn't creak and 2) it's easy to get them off, which seems to be your problem now.

If you really can't get it off, get down your local bike shop and get them to have a go at it.

Hope that helps.

Bit of a stupid topic really because you have eliminated all other possiblilties so obviously its your bb.

Not necessarily, I once took my V8's out (Which were very tight) greased the threads and put them back in and they were better after that. Just because things are tight doesn't mean they can't creak/be cracked/be broken etc etc
