shogun_gimp
Right, just been out and done some trials, and then I came inside with the bike and noticed that the wire on my back V-Brake has snapped but left 2 wire lines in the holder. There is not alot of room to pull the wire though..... So what should I do, and how much would a new wire cost? Thanks Nigel

Alex@Flawless Bikes
Yer new cable is your best bet. Don't forget to lube up the cable before you put it in the outters, that way it will work extra sweet!

Ali C
stick with the vees, they have more pros than maggies. Its woth getting some decent cable though, linear slicks at £6 new are some of the best! WD40 is also a good lube, you dont want anything too thick in them, will make the cable sticky and will attract dust and dirt.

BenLeacock™
Ok. So how do I make then better than maggies? You just need to play around and find a better set up that works for you. A desent V can cost as much or more than a maggie. Ben
Ali C
Ok. So how do I make then better than maggies?set them up properly, get good pads, get good cable and run a grind depending on what pads you get. Will be better than a maggie then

BenErr you didn't really answer his question did you.Although, I will..This setup will be pretty decent for not too much money:Avid sd7 Plazmatic CRV's or Heatsink vee brake backings with your chosen pad material.A grind A brake boosterthat should provide you with good brakes If you have the money (70 quid, I think) and can warrant spending it then get same as above but avid ultimate brakes..
