Ray_Ray
Ok so my Hope bulb rear decided to lock up during Sunday's DJ ride. I went home and took the freehub apart and turns out the ratchet is pretty knackered. Not too surprising since it's 3 years old and solely been used for trials.I gave Hope a ring and they said they'd replace the ratchet for £30, along with bearings and prawls. So has anyone used this service and how was the fix?Cheers Ray
011001000110010101110010
Pawls, phone hope. They will tell you what you need and how much, and they may sort it for you if you send it off to them.

Hope have a great customer service, and the fix is going to be fine isn't it seeing as it was them who made the hub in the 1st place so they no what they are doing. Dan Jones
I had that done to quite a few Hope XC hubs, as long as you haven't ripped the ratchet part out of the hub shell it should be fine. When I sent mine off, I never had to pay anything so they must have changed that now. Ash-Kennard
i remember reading it was because people were abusing them by sending their hubs off for a service every month or something stupid
Krisboats
I sent mine off a couple of weeks ago. Stick it in a box, ring them up, get the address, stick a little note in saying wat needs doing and your return address and send it off to them. They fix it and have it back to you in like 3-4 days. Make sure to include a contact telephone number on your little sheet of paper so the finance staff can sort out the payment with you. James-M
I've gotta get mine replaced aswell, I'm just making my own cardboard box to whack the whole wheel in, (as the hub doesn't particularly need to be on its own). Could ask your LBS to send it off, as they can get it alot cheaper (That's if you haven't sent it off already!). £12 for postage (Torquay) from LBS, and £30 for the job. I wouldn't say the LBS got it cheaper at all

Waynio
if they get into it and find it needs bearings/freehub body replacement they will do this at the SAME cost they have quoted you, and as someone else has stated, if they cant get the ratchet ring out of the hub they will send you a new "hub shell" for the price of the service!!!if you ask me, service doesnt really get ANY better at all from a UK company. Iv not yet heard of a production line Pro2 trials going back for a ratchet thats quite convincing......Waynio..................................
