David
Hey there, just wondering if anyone has ever connected an xbox original (Or any console) to there computer to play through your pc monitor? I'm assuming it can be done via the compostie and audio ports on my pc but I am struggling to find any software. Most the programs ive found are designed for recording tv from the composite port and dont do a very good ojob of just watching it stream... Any ideas? Thanks,Dave
Nick Garland
I did with my mate, was on a laptop. He had some software that came with his tv card. I would assume that you would need manufacturer software for it. Maybe something like virtualdub would work as a capture device that plays in realtime.I have to wonder why you want to do this as the normal xbox does not go HD and I can tell you now it looks BAD, very bad. Unless you are doing it for a bigger screen or to record something, its really not worth it, the quality is so poor.
Tomm
I used to have a little black box thing that converted a scart lead thing to VGA, so it connected straight into the monitor. It was pretty good, but I don't know what I did with it otherwise I'd sell it to you. Obviously there was no lag or anything with that. I know it was made by Logitech, not sure if you can still get them or not?
Dr. Nick Riviera
mate's got a monitor with two inputs, one for pc one for xbox. it's a shit load better than on a tv, quieter, brighter and shitloads easier on the eyesedit: having re-read your post, i got the wrong end of the stick.i don't know of anyone who's done that, but i'd definitely try it trough a monitor as opposed to a television. Gavyn.
I connected mine through my tv card but theres about a 2 second lag because it records to the disk then plays and you can't play a game like that! vga-scart is your best bet you can get them off ebay i think. Olly C
If i buy this...How do i get the sound to work?http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/XBOX-360-VGA-TFT-CRT...1QQcmdZViewItemIt comes with L R Audio Red/White or digital optical. You can't buy one of those for the original Xbox though as it doesn't output in VGA.What you'd need for the original Xbox as Tomm said is a VGA adapter box, thats if you can't get anything to run it straight through the connection your using..Here is the thing you need though!Olly.
