KRAZY888
Hi I posted a topic about stripping my frame so how much would cost me toStrip it Spray itGraphics pout on it So were can I get it done how much this is only a idea at the moyup! to spray it mate.. DIY job... its not really that hard at all.. once u got the bike completely stripped.. using nitromors 1. u need to prime (i leave it for like 24 hours to harden)2. then choice of color... again another 24 hours3. then laquer it.. this is most important... usually more coats u use.. the better the finish.. (providing step 1 & 2 are good)dry 24 hours.. then add ur decals.. presto.. http://p4.aacdn.us/?size=full&id=2433460http://p3.aacdn.us/?size=full&id=2433459http://p1.aacdn.us/?size=full&id=2433457PM if u need anymore help/adviceoh yeah.. sorry.. price so long as u can do everything urself.. shouldnt be no more than .... lets say.. £40.00 that covers nitromors, primer, color and laquerbest of luck
tomtrials
if its a t rex just strip it with nitromos. I did it to mine and to get rid of the chromey finish i used a fine sandpaper to make it look more like a dull koxx silver and not like treated metal. monkeyseemonkeydo
Dan Jones got his Echo sandblasted and powdercoated yellow for £20 at Ferndown Powder Coating. I also got my rims done Repsol orange for £10 each. Might be worth getting in touch. You'd just have to send it to them and then apply some new decals afterwards.Dave
simtradan
arent you meant to put a two pack clear when doing a descent spray job?
Hendrix
Just do it yourself! It's a learning curv too. I sprayed my Raleigh Touring bike up - spend £30 - and hasn't been scratched. Bear in mind, it's been thrashed around off & on road
basher
Strip your frame with nitromorse, ruff it up abit with sand paper or something and make sure its clean. Go halfords and buy some primer, laquer and the colour you want spray cans. Do 2/3 coats of primer and do 3/4 paint coats and then do 3 or even 4 coats of laquer. I did my mod for about 30 quid and the finish is suprisingly good.

Krisboats
I got told this morning by a mate who frequently sprays his bikes that wilko's metal paint is the best rpimer you can get, and if you thinking of doing it in black... the best paint too. He says its tough as nails.
Bill_B
If its aluminium make sure you etch prime it otherwise you will have problems making the paint stick

scottmarks2007
yeh defonatly DIY i do all my bikes !!dont compromise the paint though get car stuffcheap paint causes nasty runs!and preperation is most important because if you leave greasy finger printsthe paint will start to react!!!!I got told this morning by a mate who frequently sprays his bikes that wilko's metal paint is the best rpimer you can get, and if you thinking of doing it in black... the best paint too. He says its tough as nails.the thing most people get wrong when they want to spray adull black is that they get matt black (this makes it like a chork board!!!)the paint that is seen on echo lite forks and cranks gu frames ect.......... is satin black
Ash-Kennard
why don't people try it for themselves anymore, i think its sad that people will just send things away or get someone in to do something. I guess its because ive been brought up with a very DIY dad who would force me to help him or atleast contribute with most things he did.get the halfords, buy 3 spray cans, primer, secondary and laquour, use a netal coat hanger going through the toptube to hold it up and get spraying, remember even layers are the key will cost you alot less than £80 and can be touched up if required.I myself can just get my dad to powder coat my stuff, but i am yet to take advantage of this as i like how my bike looksEDIT: look, its even in the Wiki Edited May 21, 2007 by ash-kennard
