Cheap'ish Parts - Which Ones ?

Hendrix

Recommended Posts

After yesterdays DJ Ride, I started noticing a few bits.

The fact I had no tred on my tires was NO help at all. - Can you suggest some new ones ? 20".

My crank system is gone by quite a bit now, crunching the whole time, bottom braket maybe ? Also the right pedel barings have gone, and they're now pinging about. a decent cheapy ?

My freewheel also needs looking at, what new one can you suggest, maybe a re-build, as it's not sounding very loud!

If you could give me a rough price on this stuff, I can start saving to get the parts :P

Cheers,

Hendrix

tyres: creepy crawlers front and rear (although as its summer time, you could get away with cheaper, harder compound tyres), but if you have a 20inch rear wheel, you dont have much choice, kenda make a 2.5 20inch tyre which is basically like a luna

if the bb wobbles, thats a pretty good indicator its dead...un53 will do the job brilliantly

pedals wise, wellgo v8 copies do well

if the freewheels dead, dont bother servicing it, buy a new acs claw

those are all cheap but reliable parts that will last

How do you know when your freewheel is dead? Surely your cranks and pedals just dont stop moving? Anyway I bought some Wellgo v8 copies and there not bad, the reviews on chain reaction were mixed but I went for them and have had no problems, they also come in pretty colours! Heres a link http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=563
