will a hayes 205 mm disc fit into a 203 mm avid

obviously i know its slightly bigger but will it fit and work ok?

need quick answers please

Never tried it.

But i can imagine you getting some fairly noticeable rubbing.

No worries, lots of people get Hayes rotor sizes wrong, because Hayes being American use imperial measurements. So the rotors just say 8" not 203mm. In reality a Hayes 8" rotor = 203mm and a Hayes 6" rotor = 160mm (I know 160mm isn't 6", but meh, that's what they are, I know from experience)

And like I said even if somehow it was a 205mm (which it isn't) it would still work fine in an avid. (Y)

It may rub a little bit, but you can easily fix that by throwing a washer between the postmount adapter and the concave/convexe washers.

That is a really good tip though - Avids are super adjustable so you can bodge most things... Compared to Shimano or Hayes calipers anyway.
