Someone go slap there designer.

There still using that shitty lump in the top-tube, looks like its gunna give birth or something! Anyone got an explanation for why they've kept a feature that I can't remember seeing any positive feedback about on the mod frame? Any reason to do with materials or physics? cos it sure ain't there for aesthetics after the feedback they must have had!

Yeah, I agree, the curves look nice and make it stand out. The random growths make it have less clearance and look like its got something wrong with it! haha

Reminds me of a Santa Cruz chameleon, another ugly as fook bike that's supposed to be really nice to ride and carries a heavy price tag.

Maybe they've got all the geo right and just want to give the bike something unique, to stand out?

When i rode cesar's in march, it felt really nice, he said they had it spot on and all he wanted to do was make it lighter ( even though it was about the weight of a feather).

So maybe that is the reason then, to make it look different

Haha should have guessed that they were going to use the same sort of design for the stock.

Everyone was complaining about the mod version at first aswell, but it did come out nice with some tweaks

Bet the same could happen for the stock :)

Yeah, I think its cool making it unique, but surely they would have realised this isn't the right way to do that from the feedback they got about the mod version. Most peoples response to it was something along the lines of "really nice other than the lump in the top-tube"

But to be honest that was the replies on here.

Dont think the pi's visit trials forum much, if they've even heard of it lol

They probs just put the lump in to see if makes any differents to strength etc

Haha, true, probably not. Kinda shows like a cross section of the trials comunity though, so gives a good idea of what most peoples responce to it would be. meh. Really does look like the machine whent wrong when curving the tube! haha.

I really like the frame otherwise though, love the funky stays and curved downtube, looks like nice geo too. :)

Increase the strength at the headtube?

Make a nice springy toptube for extra bounce?

I was thinking about this - Manufacturers have messed about with just about every option with regards geometry, I can't see any major changes happening now. Perhaps the next step is to develop lively frames which are nice to ride. I remember my old Leeson just felt really nice, as did Ali C's Global ti frame, and I don't think it was just in the geometry. So maybe Monty are trying to do something clever like that.

On the other hand, maybe they're just trying to make it look wank.
