(and came out alive without being attacked by the kind of people that live there) hehe. Looks cool, it looks a bit spooky from the outside, never ventured in myself though. I know loads of people used to go there ages ago though.Dave
James-M
The only place i've managed to explore was on old MFI near me. It had been closed down and empty for months, not quite like the rest of these places seen on here, but was a laugh. My cousin found a way in... Then we just looked around, it was totally stripped down with a trolley in the very middle, what fun we had My mate also nearly fell down a three story lift shaft I wanna find some places like this but there doesn't seem to be any around Torquay. We found what looks like the side of an old colosseum, it was huge. Couldn't get to it though as it was well hidden, and directly behind people's gardens. Tony Harrison
Yeah, beware of unguarded liftshafts.Usually there'll be stuff somewhere near you I'm sure. Where is Torquay? I think there are some tin mines down your way somewhere.
Tony Harrison
Only one thing remained to be conquered on the Beetham West Crane: the gib. And London-based explorer Palace Fan did just that. Complete nutter. Even when it started blowing a gale and lashing it down he kept going, right to the end. Harnessed up of course, but the guy's got balls. I was scared enough sheltering by the relative safety of the top ladder...
Willy
From a couple of recent explores; This is when I went back to the Royal played with the lighting a whole lot more:Playing with lighting in the swimming pool:A recent trip to Bradford house (see picture):The amount of roofs you could gain access to in this place was mental so here we go:This actually used to be a strip club (well part of it), heres me doing my kinky pose:A brewery in Mansfield:And me being emo waiting for my train back from the Sheffield meet:Sorry about quality of the pictures, my glass and I really do suck at this. But hay new lens is ordered and I will be getting alot more practice! Will.
Tony Harrison
Practice is how you get better, but they're pretty good photos anyway. I went to Mansfield Brewery earlier this year. On the whole it was pretty trashed, although we did stumble across some of the older brewing rooms and some old paperwork, and even some old beer! Then on the way out we found the keys to the main gate on the pavement, right by the main gate!! So we phoned the security company and told them to sort their lives out!! Willy
Cheers Snappel, when we went the brewery we hopped over to the bottling buildings and there was loads of old beer there, surprisingly I didn't try any haha. Everything was completely gutted when we went, the one thing I wanted to do (the very highest part of the roof) I was persuaded out of doing by the two guys I was with of 28DL, wish Angel came with us, she would of threw me up there! I actually have pictures of a the office where all the blue prints were quite interesting really...

TrashZen
Awesome!that's mental!(by the way, nice site Snappel, surfed in a lot )Did some UE when I was a student, climbing on chimneys etc.. was always a blast, but some day, I really shitted myself, slipping backwards on a steep tile roof, stopped by a 5 inch gutter pipe :$ . (7 storey building)
Tony Harrison
Thanks for the comments on the site. It's certainly taken some work!!I've had some near misses - not least of all this saturday when I nearly fell into a tarpaulin at the bottom of a flooded lift shaft... I look back and think of some of the rooftop stuff I did before I really got into UE and it scares me - we used to go up on rooftops where we lived all the time. As you say, one slip and you're dead! Tony Harrison
Nice photos. Welsh stuff looks familiar. Is that up near Ffestiniog?
Willy
Llanberis its not that far away from Ffestiniog.
Tony Harrison
Yeah, I used to go walking round there years ago. I keep meaning to spend a day looking at the old slate quarries and mines. I have some marked down, so I'll have to go past Llanberis. Somewhere up there is the bomb/ammunition store, which looks quite good.
Extreme_biker0
A closed down power station pres de chez moi:A random digger. All that stuff in the background was still humming loud.My favorite. The thing down the middle is like a raised walkway leading to where I guess all of the steam for condensing bellows out of. My friend is in the middle of the picture for scale. If anyone has the opportunity to check out one of these I suggest they do. It is an unreal experience. The echo inside you would not believe. This one has been gutted (the other ones had some kind of gauze-like material filling them).
Tony Harrison
Nice! Thorpe Marsh I'm guessing? Yes, the echo is really wierd. Me and a mate hid from security guards in one of the towers at High Marnham and every time we moved about it echoed about 20 times! It's really strange. Just stand in one and shout, or clap. Imagine playing music loudly in one!!

Tis quite good I'll get some shots up, completely stripped though and I mean completely. The shot named "another tunnel" is at the back of the store! THE trials commentator
ive just read this topic from start to finish, and its amazed me,i never thought about stuff like that before.Kinda makes me think i should have taken some pictures when i was working in the tunnels under Windsor Castle, which i managed to get lost in for a day,yet managed to get out in time for the end of work. im gonna looking at some more of this stuff now,its brilliant!Carl
RobinJI
Anyone know any spots around somerset or devon? Once I get driving I'm definatly gunna go check some out. There are a few places I'd like to go check out, theres some old buildings along side the canal and railway in taunton that I always thought would be cool to explore, but I doubt theres alot in there. Aparently theres an asylum just outside taunton, called sam hill or sand hill or something along those lines, anyone heard of it?
