I can't believe you've all said nothing but bad things about these brakes and that "their not worth the money" (debatable anyway) despite the fact none of you have used them.

Did you even look at the other topic and read what people WHO HAVE ACTUALLY USED THEM have said about them?

You obviously don't know much about brakes (based on not knowing vee's could be better than a hs33) so why jump to conclusions?

Its like the lypton ice tea advert..... don't knock it till you try it.

Yer i agree, they have reveiws that say they have amazing stopping power. I think the maggies are still better though :D

Ben

you thought vee's were all shit and you've never used a echo brake, so what supports that statement? the fact that you like maggies?

Yer good call, i have heard of better vee brakes but never really looked into them. I have also read some reviews and people say they are great brakes i aint saying they are crap but i still cant fault the magura.

Why did u say exactly the same as the person about you ?

I have an echo rear brake.

I personally think it is a vast improvement over the normal magura, seeing pictures does not do them justice. They really are worth £135 no doubt about that. The lever body is perfcetly machined to a smooth shiney surface with all the excess material removed, the way the hose is positioned to go into the lever makes it near impossible to actually piece the hosing. The slaves themselves are very well refined, they have shorter and fatter pad holders (metal bit that pokes out not sure of the name). They are longer so they allow more adjustment too.

The tpa is ALOT stronger than the magura ones, I have broken 7 of the 05/06 magura tpas within days of having them, the echo one is solid as, even the tpa adjsuter itself is machined. The lever blades are longer and thus give more power, the fact you get some damn nice CNC brake mounts too and some echo pads.

I have learnt one thing over the years, you get what you pay for. If you are willing to spend the money on good products you will reap the rewards.

I have used rear vees and discs too, and so far the echo brake is the best.

Cool thanks the first person to comment who owns the brake :) I agree what you pay for you get :) Maybe have to invest in them if i get some more possitive replys :)

Vees are like the best thing in the world but its just a different feel to Maggie's to be honest i think the cnc break is a wast of time and all money is better spent on Maggie with braided hose and mint pads or somefin...

I agree you canrt say things about what they work like, they probily do work beter. Just from what you do read just makes them sound like they are the same as hs33, just a bit lighter. im not trying to say they are comply poo as im not tryng to say that. And i agree about the vbrake can be beter then maggies, just they need to set up right and need good parts eg. leavers and arms. But as you said about the advert dont knock them before you tryed them...... just my opinon thats all.

It's a little different lypton ice tea costs about 50p to try and the echo cnc breaks costs 80 £135.

Boswell, you aren't helping at all , you can see what he is saying, he means don't just hate it because its expensive, you get what you pay for.

well i've tried the new echo brakes and didn't like em at all, the lever blades are 2 rattly compared to mags, and to be honest i can't see where there value is for the extra money, so i'd stick to maggies there cheaper and can work well if set up properly (same goes for v's btw), i would say you don't get what you pay for with the echo's, you do with mags, Ben G WST

So you wouldnt reccomend them ? That seems different, people say that they are great ? I agree i would just stick with mags (or a powerful disk) but when something new comes out i like to hear from riders who have used it :)

Thank your for you opinion :)
