Nick Garland
I have at the moment an echo 2007 front rim on a pro 2, I have a new echo 2007 front rim that I am going to build onto the pro 2 so its the exact same wheel. I have had the old one together for 5 months now will the spokes be ok to re-use or shall I get some new ones? I have been using a front disc but the tension has not been really tight as I have been scared of ripping the nipples through my rim so the spokes should not be too stressed. Greetings
It'll be fine. Don't de-lace the wheel when you change the rim, do it this way:
Ash-Kennard
^^^dont do that.just tape the rims together with some cello tape, loosen all the spokes, then just move them over one by one to an equal tension. THEN tension it

Ash-Kennard
did i say they were? the 'THEN' was for in that order, so he doesnt try to tension one at a time putting them on
Nick Garland
I did a mixture of the above before even reading this. I losened all the non disc ones, moved them over and put the nipples on losely but enough to hold them in place, did the same for the disc side. Then the usual of tensioning, truing, dishing etc, worked a treat.
