JT!
Can't decide. Both amazingly expensive, had no idea they cost that much. The video's only a few pounds more, so it would seem like it'd be worth getting, but i don't really care for the video feature, but then again, i'm not fussed about the sise. But the video's are big fat things really compared to the nano. So.... I'll never use up 8GB anyway, not to mention 30. I'm leaning towards the nano myself, but i'd thought i'd ask. Also, anyone know of any cheap places to get them? Ebuyer are doing £10 off everything over £30 at the mo so i'm guessing that'll be the best place to buy them?

Caleb
can you not buy one of them i-pod copies on ebay? apperently their not half bad
David
Go for the nano, the reason being its flash memory. The big downfall of ipods are the harddrives, with arms getting stuck to platters etc. As for ipod copies...DONT go there!
Greetings
Voted Nano, you'll probably rarely watch movies on the Video anyway. The nice thing about the Nano is that you can easily carry it around in your wallet or when your riding without really feeling it's is there. Tomm
Yeah if you won't use the videos or the extra space, what's the point in the 30gb?
Orgun_Donor
Voted Nano.My old 2gb one is awesome for slipping in my pocket and grooving to music while im riding/walking/working. The size of them also means its almost like not having anything in your pocket.
Haz
iPod Mini ***Mine has been running two years without a hitch, only recently has the battery life started to drop, and that's only because I use a radio transmitter for my car.I'm looking at getting a new one*, because I have 27Gb of music, I'm fed up of having to chop and change what is on my iPod, so the larger capacity is very appealing. What's not appealing is the price. Almost £200 so I can listen to some muic, f**k that.*New Video one, which according to Mac Rumors should be updated soon-ish. Ghetto Rider
I voted for the nano! I've got one of these but the 4gb version, it's awesome! - Use it when out riding or plug it into my stereo in my car and play the tuneage through the speakers... It's ace and so compact and light! Also when you hear a tune you haven't heard in a while or you like a new song, it's all on the IPOD! Great inventions they are, still adding to it after 600 tunes later! My best song on my IPOD...... hmmmm, maybe "Shaba Ranks - Mr Loverman or even 2Pac - I wonder if heaven got a ghetto" Dan
RobinJI
I'd go for the Nano. I like the way you can't just put all your music on there, it make you think about what to put on it, and then you're more likely to listen to everything on it, rather than just clicking 'transfer all' and listening to your favorites all the time, when a bunch of the stuff on there has a play count of 0. Also the size is a pretty obvious thing. You say you're not bothered, but when its digging into your thy every time you've crammed it into your pocket it'll be a different story. MadManMike
I hated iPods.I got a 4gb Mini.I still hate them.As players they are great, but iTunes is immensely shite.

Token
Get the 30gig, when the battery dies, which it inevitably will do then you can plug it into your comp and use it as a external HD like me. Then it doesn't work out to be a total waste of money.
JT!
Go creative, they're a lot better.Or Sansa (SanDisk) Another vote for creative I didn't really think about anything else becuase of iPods reputation. Is it worth looking into other makes?can you not buy one of them i-pod copies on ebay? apperently their not half bad The work 'copy' and 'ebay' kills that idea. The big downfall of ipods are the harddrives, with arms getting stuck to platters etc. What the difference between and hard drive and flash memory? Max Quinn
I voted Nano, i think 8gb is easily enough and i like small players I recently got the 2nd Gen Ipod shuffle though and this ting is AWESOME. Only 1gb but if you realy have a big music collection then just tell the computer to do a random sync every time you plug it in so it just fills it with 1gb of random tracks.I fill mine with albums though aswell, i don't find it hard to navigate as i just put if on shuffle, clcik forward till i get to a track of the album and then put it on normal run through to listen to the album For £55 aswell, an yeah espeacially for riding i'd much preferto have flash memory. omgnoseat
when the battery dies, which it inevitablywhat do you mean with this.. how long does something take I got the 80gb version and this kinda scares me
JT!
I thought about the suffle, but i don't see the point in buying that over a generic 1gb mp3 player. Which i've got at the moment. If you want a song from a certain band, from a certain album, it's quicker just to flick threw every song and hope you get lucky that to actually go threw all the folders etc.Looks like the nano it is then. downhill_rob2@hotmail.com
use it as a external HD like me.Hehe, thats a good idea actually...I have 32.4 GB of music on my pc... and listen to 99% of the bands... so i would go for the 30GB myself... its upto you really... JT!
I only have 2gb of music though. If that.
Token
what do you mean with this.. how long does something take I got the 80gb version and this kinda scares me Approximately 18 months with a Ipod and you'll be looking at either replacing the battery or buying a new one.P.s The difference between flash memory and a HD is the Hard Drive has moving parts, more stuff to break basically. The flash is quicker and doesn't brake as easy because of no moving parts, however its more expensive to get an equal amount of storage for flash memory compared to HD.Hard drives tend to last a few years though, my Ipod that I use everyday (plugged into my computer via USB) has been going for about 2 and half years now. Ofcourse the battery is well an truly knackered, doesn't last for 5 mins. But its a good external HD.
MadManMike
You'll get more though...
Has anyone seen my shoe?
I voted Nano, cos 8gb is enough to have quite a bit of music on it so you wont get bored.Plus its nice, slim and small so your pocket isnt all bulgy.Im upgrading from a 2gb nono to an 80gb Video though
