Some Questions About The Adamant A1!

Recommended Posts

Hi! I'm 14 years old, and live in Norway! :)

I've ridden a homemade bike for about 3months now. And I'm sick of getting my rims bent and fcked after every run. (N)

So, I'll take a HUGE chance, and buy a brand new Adamant A1 from WebCyclery.com. http://webcyclery.com/product.php?producti...t=76&page=1

Ok, enough talking..over to the questions!

-Can I trust WebCyclery? Are they nice, and helpful?

-Can you tell me the weight and what the frame is made of?

-Is it a good beginners bike?

-I'm about 177cm tall, and I think I will be about 185cm in a couple of years. Should I choose a Long or a Short frame? And Why?

-Other Pros and Cons? Why should I buy/not buy this bike?

Alot of questions, but I hope you will take the time and answer most of them! ;)

Best Regards Jim.

IS THIS THREAD AT THE WRONG FORUM?

Cool you made your own trials bike, please post some pictures up. As for your questions yes Adamant A3's are excellent bikes, the high BB rise makes them feel really easy to ride. As for the length i would go for a long to get the maximum time out of it. :)

The Adamant A1'a are Awesome frames, made from Aluminium.

It's a pretty damn good top level frame, let alone beginner.

Edit: After looking at the spec it will be an awesome bike to ride, I'd reccomend the long personally.

Brakes are top notch, and the White Industries Freewheels are great.

Can't comment on the shop though, sorry

Tartybikes a1 and the one you linked us to are pritty much the same really. Look at tartybikes for all the information you want on the frame for weight and geo ect. Long or short well short will be easier to throw around and more flicky i would think. But long will be better for taps ect its just preferences with each rider and you need to ride a long and short frame to find out which you like really.

webcyclery sponsors Observedtrials.net which is another major trials forum, the main one for the non uk. so they are definately reliable. if you live within webcyclery's postage zone then i would go from there. really good price for an incredible bike.

definately get the long, short bikes with high bb's feel very cramped and will restrict your riding evenually.

also those frames look like the old models (06 ones) so will be even better for learning on.

This bike is the shit, enjoy it

Hey! Thanks for a good Answer! :) I'll guess I will order from WebCyclery then, cus' they have the bike in blue B)

As I wrote in the first post, I live in Norway. So, what if I brake a part or something? It'll be exspensive to send the parts over the sea 'n stuff....but, that doesen't matter

Personally I wouldn't go into high-bb frames, I've owned one of these Adamants for about 8 months now and I hate it with a passion. It has it's pros and cons, just like dating a beautiful and horny yet very dumb girl. In general it's an incredibly stiff and responsive frame, good for most static moves but no good for taps. The long one might be better.

If I were you, I'd get a long Control or 2007 A1 long.

I sent an E-mail to WebCyclery yesterday! They strongly recommended buying the bike here in Norway! Cause it will be $400 just for the shipping

An if I should brake something on the bike it wouldn't be so expensive (shipping)

Though the bike cost's $2.333 in Norway anyway..

FU*K!!! I'M SO PISSED RIGHT NOW!! AAARRRRG :S

That's utter bs man.

$340 is the price for a 30 pound box sized 45/15/15" by Global Priority mail (1-3 business days)

$75 is roughly how much you will pay for shipping of the wheels by EMS (3-5 business days)

Indeed if you'd want to send the bike in one parcel, it would cost a hell of a lot more so why not send it in two parcels. I think they just don't want to send overseas or have no idea about what they're talking about.

Edit: or ~$600 for the lot shipped by FedEx priority
