AdamAllen
Hey well i've been reading that you should learn to sidehop oppisite to your lead foot because you can catch your pedal, untill i read this i could sidehop fine to the right and im right footed. Now i have been trying to teach meself to sidehop left but can only do 35 inchs but i go the front wheel and swing the back end round which is really uncomftable and feels wrong and my balence is all out. However if i sidehop to the right then i can get 40 inchs and land flat.So is it worth pushing myself to sidehop left?CheersAdam

flas12345
im right footed and i sidehop to the left. it does feel alot better goin the opposite way but like the guy above said neil t goes the same way as his lead foot, so obviously you can go which ever way feels best.cheers lou. matt rushton
It is also better if you don't fully make the sidehop because you drop down to your crank then your balenced.Matt Rushton
T_PRO
I am right footed, and I am more comfotable side hopping to the left anyway.

I cant really push myself when I go to the right, i have a "set" height although I've found from two wheels to two wheels is much more fun to the right
.mitch
I learnt to sidehop to my right first, then only a couple of years ago decided to learn to my left (right footed)now it feels better going to the left, as you can get closer to the obstacle and "tuck" betterhope this helps. best to learn both sides of course! gianttrials
The worlds best riders tend to be able to sidehop high to both sides so its good to try to both sides, im left footed an sidehop to the left higher an more comfortable but try to the right aswell. i really hate it when people say you have to sidehop to the left if your right footed an vice-versa, like everyones been saying just look at the way nezza sidehops left/left . I'm just learning to side hop to my back foot side. This is because when you do it to the front foot side, and miss, there's nothing but your arse to hit. The other way (as other people have posted) you can drop to the crank if it doesn't go to plan. keep hucking at it.

downhill_rob2@hotmail.com
If you think of how your bosy is designed... when you side hop to the left with your right foot forward, it is much easier to get tuck, because of the way your legs are positioned... they are in the right position to get alot of tuck... also when you gap... if you gap right foot forward, you should gap to the left (take off at a angle to the left...) this is because your body is designed to stretch alot easier the way your feet as placed. if you gap right foot forward are to the right, you are stretching your left leg alot and you dont get full extrention of your body in mid taking off point... If you get what i mean In other words.. im perfect. walk on water n stuff.
