Would A Double Front Brake Work?

Recommended Posts

quite and interesting idea.

think it would work/look best with two disks on the front

like the superbikes have

but it would probally be a bit to much weight and the stoping power if it worked 100% properly would be a bit more then you need.

also if anything goes wrong and it needs a re-bleed or anything could take a while

I've seen a REALLY cheapy bike (most likely from a cataloge or Argos) with dual front discs (both shitty cable ones) looked like it weighed a ton and worked about as well as pissing into the wind.

Yer but that would work on a trials bike because they only work for kids aged bout 4 that are going along at 3mph and want to stop gradually :D

hang on, on the second page someone said about having a double vee could that work i dont no anything but the cable would have to be thicker to fray to get to either brake, unless you only use one cable so it goes through the front of the fork and then curves round to the back (a u turn basically)

only problem with that would be the vee on the back of the fork would have a delay wouldnt it

the brakes wont have any delay

its pointless anyway, i have a maggie with koolstops on the front and its fine, just about...

Yer i agree but i suppose that if people do want to look 'different' they could mount 2 v's or a cable and a v ! but no to maggies or other hydrolic duel disks :D

You got it! One cable run through the V as normal but instead of clamping it, use a piece of outer to route it to the 2nd V (I can't remember how it was done exactly as it was in MBUK about 9 yrs ago).

Used on Pace forks as they have the clamp on V mounts.
