Concussion
Noticed my camera was taking cloudy looking pics, checked the lens and found out... it looks like shit! Don't even know how it got like that as I thought I was being carefull, my Dad did borrow it once though!! Pic looks worse than it is (taken on dads new camera), but there it is! So does anyone know if it can be repaired, or is it time to bin it and buy a new one? Also, my Dad bought a £70 point and click camera from Aldi or Lidel, took this pic of my bike with it, which I think is a pretty decent shot... taken on auto-everything! Should I buy one too, or will Jessops have something better for the money? Actually, the pic looks crap after I compressed it/save for web etc... but it looks alright on my PC.Cheers! craigjames
is it dirt or scratches? might be able to carefully polish or clean it out, but i wouldnt even bother to get it fixed, camera's are notoriously expsensive to fix.
Concussion
I dunno, looks like dirt to the eye but looks badly pitted in the photo? Tried to clean it with my glasses lens cleaner solution but it didn't get any better... nor worse.
Fish-Finger-er
aint worth gettin it repairded, lookin at what i can see from that camera, its not worth much. the aldi P&S cam i saw at £70 looked ok, but bear in mind its just a cheap p and s camera. got a fuji s5100/s5500 here, with a few accessories, could sell you that if your interested
Fixed Pants™
I spose you could carefully run your nail over it to feel if it's actually scratched (looks like a scratched marble in the pic, maybe grease) and if it isn't scratched get a soft cloth to sort it? rocktrials
looks grimey, so ye, try nail
Tomm
It's not condensation on the inside of the lens is it? If it is, try drying the camera out - a few days in a nice warm (dry) cupboard should do it.
Concussion
I'll try to determine if its scratched with my nail etc, and put it in a warm place... phoned my dad to ask him did he touch the lens, he says "no, but I was taking pics of some waves blasting over the sea front... I got bloody soaked!" = jesus dad!!May take trials_punk182 up on his offer as I'm getting into this photography lark... just thought, I made friends with the photo tutor in college last week, will ask him = score! ...then sell my old one to Fat Pants! Thanks guys. Edited April 29, 2007 by Concussion

Tomm
It'll just be the salt then, surely you can just wash it off? Get a lens cleaning cloth and some clean water - You shouldn't really be using anything else on the front of any lens, fingernails are probably not a great idea!
