1337 Trials
Hiho. I want to get some gears put onto my dirt jumper because I use the bike to get around on alot. I only want rear gears. What would be a good deraliur for the back? (and cassete). Also please tell me which one wont skip or how to stop gears jumping(y)Thanks- ~Matty

Cassete i would also recomend a sram, i would go for the x-o though as its 180 quid then shifters are 170 as well. XT would also be good as a rear mech, then a shimano cassette, sram *** for me though. great mech really fast, hope this helped... ben

My mate is selling a SRAM deralier (sorry for spelling) for like £10 and my single speed kit so I might do that. Also he give me cassete. ~Matty
Dani.
Forget that X0 bullshit, too expensive. If you really want to get sram I suggest you go for summat like the X9 or what not, the deore XT is a nice peice of kit aswell as the XTR but then again, the XTR is expensive aswell and I don't think you really want to risk bustin' up an expensive rear mech to be honest so I'd reccomend that only for XC. paolo
Hahahahaha you guys are sick, it's dirtjump bike, deore with alivio shifters, or whatever sram has as an equivalent. If your friends stuff is in good shape, go for it. Also, you will probably need something to keep the chain straight up front, because when you'll be at the really easy gears and the really hard one, the chain won't be in straight line so it'll have a tendency to fall over so if you want to run those gears and be sure your chain won't skip, you'll either need a dummy front derrailleur (with a really really short cable), a chain guide or double bashguards.
