wayneone Posted April 26, 2007 Report Share Posted April 26, 2007 Ive just finished 3 years as a bench joiner(i can do carpenry aswell) All i can say to you mate is if you want to be a carpenter or joiner then its fantastic if you dont want to be then it will be crap.You cant realy define a trade as "any good" it depends what you like doing. I said at the start of school i dont want to be in an office all day and was going to do a bricklaying course.. but after the tester day it rocked! I dont know what they'll do with you but down here they started off by teaching me the basic 4 jointed frame and rapidly went to secret lapped dovetails and the sort..Like wayneone said if its not your thing from the start you wont get on.. i have a friend who did C+J with me and he bailed out in the second week because it really wasnt his thing.. and couldnt understand wood! funnily enough.. hes playing with electric now in the other department..Do you work with your hands alot? and are you logicly minded? they help.. obviously.. hope i helped lol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
