Sam Moore
HeyI’m about to buy a new back wheel, and there are two types of rims that everyone seems to have at the moment, so I’m just wondering witch rim is the strongest and lightest out of the Echo Rear 19" 2007 and the Try-All Rear 19".Cheers Sam
JoNnY__Mc
echo 07 seems to be stronger on stock anywaysedit: your looking for mod though so can't really say... Edited April 23, 2007 by JoNnY__Mc
RR_Trials
Echo, double walled.EDIT: Just checked tarty it seems the Koxx rear is double walled too, but not the front. Edited April 23, 2007 by RR_Trials

Danny Kearns
Lmao. Koxx are so lame when it comes to rims. Think ive killed 5 or 6.Never ran a Echo 07 but from the reviews and some of the lines ive seen them last through. Seem like the strongest rim out there at the moment.Echo 07 for the win.Danny. t33zr
Ive never run a Echo rim, always Try-All... and the last rims ive got seems strong as hell!! good shit....
James Quigley
Try-all's are lighter and fairly solid (the sidewalls 'ding' quite easily)The Echo 07's are hard as nails BUT weigh more than your bike.I'm only talking from experience with stock wheels, but tomatoe, tomatoe (pronounce the previous word differently in each case).I am running an Echo 07 on my stock and although it weighs as much as me it takes abuse in its stride, I wouldn't trade it. FoxRacer
Have to disagree with you, Reverend. Try-all rim ~790gEcho '07 rim ~830g40g... isn't whole bike.;pEDIT:yea i meant 40;p Edited April 24, 2007 by FoxRacer
Orgun_Donor
Have to disagree with you, Reverend. Try-all rim ~790gEcho '07 rim ~830g50g... isn't whole bike.;p40g.....My Echo 07 is better the the try-all i had, but again thats stock not mod Edited April 24, 2007 by Orgun_Donor
James Quigley
Well it felt like it weighed a lot. Maybe my bike only weighs 40g without the rear wheel in?
RobinJI
Don't know where you got 790g from. According to tarty the Try-all is 716g for the 42mm and 701g for the 47mm one. (Yes, it is the right way around, must be different wall thickness's or something). And the echo is 820. So if you wanted the 47mm version it would be a 119g difference, which is a lot really.BUTThe questions about mods, so with it being 499 for the try-all and 530 for the Echo its only a 31g difference. So not really a big deal. And ass try-alls I've seen have all been made of cheese I'd say the Echo seems a better option. Then again a DX32 kicks all there ass's for strength to weight ratio, but it's probably a little thin for most people now. ilikeriding
try-alls dent like cheese, echo
Nick Garland
I am running an Echo 07 rim and it is lovely, would not trade it, with the extra thick sidewalls can take more grinds than the koxx rim too. Echo 07 ***.
Greetings
Try-All have weak sidewalls and dent easily, they also don't hold grinds too well. Don't know about echo.
B.E.A.U
I kill many rims. Ive killed 3 koxx rims had a koxx mirror rim and killed it in 3 weeks. Had a silver 07 echo rim tried braking it on purpose couldnt do it. all i did was put a tiny dent in i still have it as a spare rimhave a black 07 echo on now gave it some serios hammering in notts otehr day wouldnt budge. best rim made ide say.they will be the same on any bike. My mate has a koxx in his bike its wank on his mod Edited April 25, 2007 by B.E.A.U
Gaz M
I've been through 5 koxx rims opposed to 3 echo rims the koxx are harder to flat spot easier to dent, then echo's are harder to dent flat spot about the same, but are a better material for brakesBasically Echo are a bit better
Oskar
my tryall weights 770gr in 32h without a grind
manuel
again - stock only and echo only experience - but i run the front echo 2007 rim on on the rear. and it laughs at everything.also i filed off the rim coating (along with the top metal surface) and it took two files and many hours of work - they are as hard as nails.from what has been said here its a pretty easy choice, as the try alls would appear to be softer for not that much weight loss. NileBrown™
Hi I have a echo '07 on the back and it seems a lot better than my mates try-all ones. I remember him hoping off a wall and it gave a flat spot, I did the same wall and at around the same tire pressure and mine was fine so I would go for a Echo '07.Nile
lil Jsy Chris
I would go for the Try All over the Echo. I have a Try All myself and find it brilliant. Its light, strong and nice looking. I would definitely get another one if had to.Chris
billocks
anyone who HASNT destroyed a try all rim obviously aint ridin hard enough.. echo all the way.. ive had mine ages, ive had 3 try all rims, 2 ronnie rims, 3 monty rims, (we all know theyre bollocks) and none of them even come close to this echo rim..theyre un-dist-ruct-ab-le!!sidewalls DO NOT DENT like them poxy try all things!if not echo, get a onza ronnie or hog, still shite but last longer than try all and hold a grind forever.. Danny Swindlehurst
i wish i could have a echo rim =[ gash 36 hole king
Janson
anyone who has killed a tryall should look over their smoothness. I have run tryalls for a while now. Put mine out of true the other day, first time in a few months. They work fine for me, last a year or two depending on how lazy I am with spoke tension. They also work really well with Coust pads. Onza Kieron
I have had two Try All's and I have sold both on so that suggests condition, like Janson said, anyone who damaging them alot either needs to look at their smoothness or tyre pressure..
