simtradan
was just wondering which break to buy, despite the price, how does the echo compare to the hs 33 and vice versa.
Saracen Kid
£65 or £135 simple
Ash-Kennard
no it isn't that simple, if you have never owned a brake i advise the echo brake as it is better quality and you will pay near the same price for a full magurabut if you already have a magura, with pads, booster, new lever etc it isnt worth the upgrade to be honest
Phil H
A full magura will never cost that much. £65 + £15 for some decent pads is £80 and you can't really add in the price of a booster as im presuming you don't get a booster with the Echo. But if you got the money Echo all the way I feel like destroying all magura levers - pain in the arse!Phil
Boswell
£65 or £135 simpleWrong, your not taking into account the echo's extras. Break pads(£18) and clamps(£25).
Guest
and take into acount that the echo is all cnc, now people say it cost to much and it doesnt work any better(i wonder how many of them have tried it ), but if its all cnc think about how much more of a solid feel you will get out of it. i reckon a few people on here have got them so if they posts take there advise is all i can say
Krisboats
I've had a go with an echo one, didn't feel all that different to be honest. Didn't feel stiffer, didn't work "better". It just looked nicer and i would imagine, is less prone to cracking like magura pistons/levers can.... thgouh without long term usage i wouldn't know.It WONT make your brake magically better. It WONT make your brake feel stiffer. The lever blade DOES feel horrible. max-t
They feel horrible to be honest. No point in buying one because the levers wobble really bad, they feel no better , the lever blades are a bit harsh on the old fingers and the lever pin falls out all of the time. tomtrials
doesn't seem like its worth the money then i wish magura kept there old style lever though, felt a lot better.
