Hey,

My step sis is selling her PC and wants to put it back to factory settings. Dose anyone know how to go about this, i don't want to wipe the computer of XP just want it to go back to as if it were taken out of the box, also i don't want to go through deleting files.

Cheers for any help.

Is/was that a hard thing to do? Fancy doing that myself sometime.

it's easy, just gets annoying when you realise you don't know where your modem drivers are......

On google? I've found you can find drivers for pretty much anything by typing in the model number.... even my sisters old £3 webcam she bought off ebay nearly 4 years ago.

But re-installing off a restore CD is a piece of cake. Just stick the cd in, tell it what you want to do and leave it going till its finished. Then just take the disc out and switch it off, leaving it ready to be customised by the new owner, just like if they bought it new.

Ive had that problem, doesnt help that the asus website is actually the most useless thing on the net, second only to freewebs.

Ended up going through about 400 cd's to find my mobo drivers which i thought i'd lost anyway.
