the try-all cnc hub is fixed but i couldnt tell you if it was avaliable in 36hole or not. i would try to avoid paying out the sort of money koxx are asking for this hub though, i think there a little overpriced for what your getting really. -Hugh

a fixed cassette hub? care to elaborate because this is a cassette hub:

large_profileblue.jpg

and you want one that doesn't turn? EG a jammed driver?

A fixed cassette hub is used with a front freewheel so it doesn't move it just holds the cassette , there are a few different ones about like echo and bt and viz but they are all 32 hole only.

i think i might have given it the wrong name , but basically its a fixed hub that can take 6 gears

Are you meaning a hub that is fixed that will fit a cassete on it so in theory you could run gears. Or just generally do you mean a fixed rear hub, if so you are confuseing people by saying fixed cassette. A cassete i generally associated with a freehub as most fixed hubs use a screw on cog not a cassete fitting. Or thats how i see it lol

Edit: Just read your posted above but cant be bothered amending my post.

Edit : Can you not get the dmr revolver i think it is in 36 hole. That takes a cassette i believe.

I'm not gonna buy a profile *** it up thats stupid !!! they cost about £140. I mean something like this but in 36 hole http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=411 .

i already am using a dmr revolver but as the sprocket screws on to a thread theres no way of adjusting the chain line with my front freewheel which is the problem I'm having , so if i was to have a hub like the one in the link id be able to adjust it.

I only called it a fixed cassette hub as it does have a cassette body its just fixed so seems an appropriate name.

He didn't mean buy a profile and lock it, he was demonstrating what a cassette hub was, to find out which you meant. Thats all.

Anyway, you could always buy a cheapish mtb rear hub and solder up the freewheel mechanism. But not really the lightest option. Something like a DMR revolver 9-speed would probably be best.

Also it is possible to adjust the chain line of a revolver SS slightly. As fixed sprockets have a thin base compared to a freewheel there's normally some room to play with thin washers and different offset sprockets.

Yeah i did have a normal hub and just cable tied it so it couldnt rachet backwards and was permanetly engaged so it worked just like a fixed hub. But the thing is there are proper ones out there i was just trying to find out if anyone knows of one with 36 holes.

I know partz wasnt saying to jam up a profile hub but some one after him said that.
