robster
I have just had a chat with a good friend who is all about trials in the north. It looks like The Fothergills that own Addingham Moorside have had a demand to close the moorside indefinatly. If this happens it is gonna put more youngsters out on the streets riding over things that they shouldn't.I think that there is work being done to raise a petition to take to the powers that be. So no matter if you know about this place and have never been before, please keep your eyes open and give all the support that you can to help stop one man from having this place closed down for good.I for one would be gutted ifn this happensJP
Sutty22
I'd definately join the campaign to keep it open. I'm from Silsden and although I live in Scotland now I spent almost every weekend of my teens up addingham moorside riding till my fingers bled.It may be a good option for a representative to speak to this guy and find out exactly what is causing him a problem. If he is only bothered about cars parking/driving along the road we may be able to meet him halfway and arrange an off road parking area in the bottom corner. This would keep cars off the road. If we could find out his exact reasons for complaint we could then begin to offer solutions.I've gone up against people like this before (usually with regards to riding trials) and trying to outright fight them on something like this probably won't work. If we show him we are prepared to compromise and meet half way he may well co-operate a little bit more. This will also help if it gets to the stage of speaking to a local MP as it will show we are prepared to co-operate and help resolve the situation. Definately get a petition on the go as well. That will give an indication of how much the moorside means to so many people on a national and even international scale. Cheers guys, Sutty. Trialsbikenut
I would do anything in my powers to help keep the moorside open, its deffinetly the best place to practice on my moto bike for rocks, and my pedal bike, i could get at least 40-50 people to sign for it to stay open over my way, really do hope that it does not close down, thanks Tom
