Simon
So, building my bike earlier, went to put cranks on, bolt wasn't going on. Thought i was being a retard so too crank off only to find the bolt i had for the shimano bb doesn't fit into the truvati one. What the hell?Did one brand take it upon themselves to go against form and make the bolt a different size? So, question, can i go into a bike shop and get the bolts and they'll still fit my middeburns, as in, is there an actual standard that someone has aheared too, or have i got to get special middleburn bolts that'll fit this truvati bb? Mat Smith!
My square shimano bb had different sized bolts to my isis trutative, went to my LBS and gave me some isis bolts free , dunno if that answers your question, should get bolts with the bb though.Mat
dave85
Square taper I presume, if so, any crank bolt that fits the BB axle will work nicely with the cranks you have.
Simon
Isis, but thats good to hear. Will just pop into a shop tomorrow and get some bolts, hopefully.
dave85
haha, yeah you threw me with the bit about a shimano bb (they dont make ISIS). If it's handy, take the BB, or get the spec. There are three different bolt diameters for ISIS.
Simon
Oh? I must of had a race face bottom bracket then. And no, in frame now.
dave85
Take the one that doesnt fit, at least you then know it isnt that one. Have a rough stab at measuring it. They come out at 12, 14 and 15mm. truvativ only use 12 and 15 from memory though.
Simon
How much of a twat do i feel...Went to go check the box the bottom bracket came in, see if size was on there. It was rattling, looked in, saw nothing so opened it from the other end, and there was 2 bolts. Go team Simon.

Simon
In my defence, they was hidden away. When you looked into the box, you'd just see cardboard, thinking it was the end of the box.
br3n
so infact you got more for your money than you first thought?
AdamR28
Yeah they are quite hidden... however:- Includes Truvativ's own cranks bolts with 8mm allen key head.
