onzat-comp
HiAs it says in the title i have just ordered my new king but i just have a few questions, I have used the search but can't find much on them so;1) Where can i get them serviced (who is the cheapest or can i do it myself, is it recommended and where can i get it done. PS; i don't want to send it miles so places like bike shops in the rotheram area etc: OH ye and how often should i get it serviced.)2)where can i get spares/replacements from. 3)what should i lube it with eg; WD40, GT85, TF2 or any other. 4)how long dose it take to fully bed in (baring in mind i ride just about every day 2 miles at least.)5)will it throw my chain line out, if it dose how can i fix this?? PS; i run a onza t-comp frame and plazmatic fixed cog just so people know.6) !!!BIGGIE!!! -- WARRANTY (what dose/doesn't it cover me against??)if anyone has a king or can give me any info please reply to this topic thanks in advance Rick

br3n
theyre good to go straight out the box, dont be so paranoid.I cant say Ive ever serviced mine but I know tartybikes offer that service with a no skip gaurentee, Im pretty sure you need special tools however there are videos on chrisking.com showing how to dismantle and service the hub.No idea about warrenty, never needed it (2 years)Why would it throw ur chain line out? its a standardly sized hub

James Quigley
You can service kings fairly easily yourself.Just remove the 'collar' using a gay imperial allen key and pull the axle out. From there just de-grease with whatever (gt85 etc) and lube up with something like Finishline chain lube.Do not just spray a load of GT85 in there and re-build it, bad idea, imo. That's what I do with mine (stock version) dont know if the mod ones are different. T-Limburn
in terms of warranty, as soon as you build it onto a trials bike i think it becomes void...heard this ages ago.my kings not been to bad for the time ive had it.its had one tartybikes 'no skip/extra loud' service and it skipped as soon as i got it back.after that it was fine for ages til it started being a bit... gay!so i mini-serviced it myself and its now ok. JackF
If i ordered one would i order the BMX rear hub because that has the closet size axle width to a mod?And what about the front hub which one would that be? I am asking because i am not sure which ones i would needThanks,Jack.
Oskar
front is standard 100mm, king iso (for disc) or king classic (for rim)and yes at the back you need a BMX spec king.

Janson
Tredmill, put it on fastest setting, sit on bike, watch tv, have a cuppa...Do that forlike a hour lmao should be bedded in then also jam front brake on it beds them in quicker...you need to put stress on the hub in order for it to bed in. it needs to engage, disengage, get forced in different directions and be ridden to bed in. spinning it with no applied force does nothing.
